hi guys,

need some help regarding my bike rpm, riding a waveS btw.my bike when in neutral,if i were to open my trottle, the rpm will stay at quite a high level for some times before it slowly reduces to the normal level. have changed engine oil, spark plug as well as serviced the carbureter. dun tink related to my trottle cable cos the rpm will slowly return to normal level by itself, also can feel the spring back of the cable after i close the trottle. What other possible area could have causes this problem?????thanks in advance

re-check your carburator again, must have been improperly installed back.

for your info, carburator is a sensitive component of the bike, and shouldn't be dismantled for servicing unless absolutely necessary. for normal commuting, probably service the carb every 6 months.

just sharing, hope this helps.

a new direction, a new inspiration

how young is your bike??

when was the last time a proper carb service done??

if u have not done it for a while...i can only guess that your carburetta has some debri in it,,some gunk floating around in the carb and fouling up the float or maybe blocking the numerous channels in it..

some serious problem include having a layer of "varnish" like stuff...good luck..

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

i have just did the carb servicing today hoping to solve the problem but it didn't go away.mine is a 5 year bike btw.the rpm is cranky only if i ramp the bike in neutral position, either i dun ramp it or else i just need to wait for it to return to its low level before i engage my first gear,if not the bike will jerk forward due to the high rpm. lucky thing is this doesn't affect the working condition of my bike...

if possible, try to check if the choke cable is stuck or smth.

i tot if choke didn't close fully, the rpm will go up veri high....mine is different leh,it goes up slightly higher when i open the trottle at neutral but it will slowly goes down until normal level, just that it takes quite some times to go down.......

anyone knows whats the black colour square electronic component fixed at the side of the carburettor for??it is about an inch wide and has 2 wires to be connected to a main cable near the bike frame...previously my rpm problem was solved by disconnecting this component...curious to know whats the purposes/function for this part....
