Yamaha YZF-R15 (150cc)

While everyone is busy discussing Yamaha YZF-R125, anyone come accross with YAMAHA YZF-R15? Specification as follows:

 

(1) A newly developed 150cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine

(2) An all-aluminum “DiASil Cylinder” produced by an exclusive Yamaha casting technology

(3) Eco-friendly performance that clears the next-phase Bharat 4 emissions standard

(4) The “Deltabox frame” known for excellent rigidity balance

(5) Impressive “2-eye” multi-reflector headlight design in the YZF-R series image

 

Any chance get this bike landed in Singapore?

The handlebars look to be at a high position and the exhaust kinda' reminds me of spark135's. This must be a Thailand's production.

Hmmm... I would say the head cowl coupled with the grab rails gives it a rather Fazer ('06?) feel.

 

 

Does Yamaha have a manufacturing plant in India? From my very limited knowledge Singapore only import from Thailand (other than Japan lah)... that's referring to Honda. Not so sure for other makes. Do correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

well the 125 look way much better than the 15...from the look i guess the 150 price might be cheaper than the 125 if it come to sg...base on my look only lah.......but still both bike look nice...i guess once this bike in the market...sp,krr,tzm will slowly fade off...

actually like honda cbr150...suzuki already have a four stroke sportbike too 8 years ago...FXR 150...its features a digital speedo too...came out in malaysia but not popular at all...none in sg...but very popular 150cc class bike in other part of the world...look like sv to me though...

lots.. megeilli has 125cc . so du suzuki, gsx 125.. there,s also peugeot with its 125cc.. not forgetting the yamaha's .. thing gonna get hot here.

I saw a malaysian rode this bike,maroon colour,nice,at 2nd link bridge.I was cruising @ 120km/h on my kips wen he potong me;so i paced him at @ 130-140...den i potong him.. it's a bit small for my taste..more like honda cbr 125or150cc i think..anyway e front looks nice but e buttside not so nice.. jus my opinion:cheeky:

I am an expat working in singapore (looking forward to buying a bike soon). I am also a moderator at http://www.xbhp.com , India's largest motorcycling community. Since the R15 is an India specific bike, there has been quite a few discussions on it in the indian forums/ websites. Thought I'd share some details of the bike with you guys:

 

 

- The engine is derived off the Indonesian V-Ixion 150, but at a much higher state of tune.

 

- Power figures haven't been released yet, but are rumoured to be 18-20 BHp.

 

- It is priced at S$3500 approx. in India. Yes, that is NOT a typo.
