firstly what was the size of yr tyre? is yr tyre new ?

If its original size.. it could probably mean the person who fitted in yr tyre didn't do a good job.

I dun noe wat size it is... It's a pretty new tyre... got it in dec 04... i dunno if the guy did a gd job or not... Mine is a tubeless, the mechanic came and told me must change the tyre i told him no $ to change... he said the cheaper alternative is to put in a tube... so he that and now i got a tubeless tyre wif a tube inside... but now the bike will fishtail very easily... any1 noes y?

mine also had the same prob due to a nail embedded in the tyre. inserted a tube and tahan for abt 2 mths. but i didn't have any fishtail prob. if fishtail, the tyre either going to wear out or ur tyre is really screwed....

im curious....

so u mentioned u changed new tyre right? so does the inserting of a tube into yr tyre = new tyre or what?

and well...i suspect the fella put in the tube into yr tubeless tyre and dint seal back the tyres to the rims properly thats why the tyre will drop out

time for new tyre or new mech? :cheeky:

wat is fish tail ah?

one possible scenario....

u jam yr rear brakes and yr rear wheel kena wheel-locked

so basically yr rear tyre is sliding along the road surface and as a result u experience loose of traction frm rear tyre and bike becomes shaky

What!??? First you said its TUBELESS tyre.. and what IS a tube doing inside yr TUBELESS tyre?

I don't understand AT ALL. If its tubeless, there wont be any tube in it.

If its tube tyre, there will be. Never heard of people purposly puting tube into tubeless tyre.

What brand is the tyre? can u like go check it out?

seriously, i suggest u save some money, get a pair of decent tyre like BT039SS or TT900GP.

Tyres are the ONLY contact point with the road when u riding it. A good pair of tyres is important not only when riding, but also for yr safety. Its something u should NEVER save money on. Just like BRAKES.

Some cheapo brands or those lousy models of tyres may look like its fresh, new, deep threads. But they are all made of losuier material, the heat cycle sucks as well. As there is poor grip when used on the roads.

P.S which motordiam u went to huh ? Pls stop going back there.

i didnt know tat my bearing is loose when i got my bike

aft months of riding , the conrod sound louder. no choice bt have to do a overhaul for a peace of mind.

aft bearing n conrod overhaul, my bike become quieter n smoother.

I feel the stock brakes and hose are good enough for riding.

But its good to invest in steel hose and better brake pads if u have the $. :D

ani recommendations for relatively gd steel hoses n brake pads as compared to d originals yet not too exp like brands i heard like HEL?

basically the steel hose is around $120 to $150.. HEL is a one of the better ones u should get...

Can't remember the other brand liao.. maybe Mr bean could help here.

Just remember.. if u getting steel hose, better get brand new ones.. can get those reputable brands like HEL.. no point getting cheapo XYZ brand steel hose.. beats the purpose..

As for brake pads.. I've no idea man.. As i'm not a hard core rider.. i always tell my mech.. i need change pads.. and they get the usual one they always use for their customers...

saved my ass quite a couple of times also shortened your braking distance

tremendously :thumb:

normal brake pad like SBS would be sufficient for your usage both wet and dry no

problem only squeaky sound produce initially

I have spoken to Bernard of Vector One not too long ago about my circle of friends wanting to have HEL cables at "special brudder" prices. His usual charge is $100 per cable (Inclusive installation and brake fluid) but mention the magic sentence "Eddy recommended me here" and you'll get $20 off. (Disclaimer: I don't get any commission from thm but just helping 2 sides to achieve a win-win situation) By the way, there i a DIFFERENCE between cheapo & branded hoses (And I'm not only talking about life & death here.

Brake pads.... If poor (Or stingy), use SBS. Moderate pricing, use EBC HH. Money (& life) no problem, use DP.

hardcore.. probably refers to those people who are dispatch riders.. they travel around like almost 5-6 hrs a day on their bike..

The stock hose expands when being used for a long period, thus, braking power is lost..

for me.. i use my bike everyday, but only to and from school only most of the time
