I took out the thermostat in the coolant system located below the airbox and changed to Maxima cool-aide. So far not so hot as before.

from what i heard, engine ice doesnt work... the temp still the same. only for a while the temp will be lower than usual but after 2 weeks the temp will be the same as before.

 

the thermostat u took out then changed to maxima cool aide? so how do i go about askin the mechanic to do it for me?

 

about the broquet, im not sure which T to take...as in 3t or 5t? or 8t... is it the more the "balls" the better? cause my fazer seems like drinkin petrol quite alot. now 180km left 2 bars. not sure how far i can go for the remainings...

its typically the same as buying all 2nd hand bikes. see the exterior, looks for leaks etc.

bro Aqi, IMO, doesnt really work fixing this additional stuff to ure bike...liter bike supose to have high f/c...

 

if u want lesser f/c, twist less on the right hand...

yat, s4 aku letak tu broquet alhamdulillah gain by at least 40-60km...maybe can try cause 1 of my fren using broquet and his fz1 reach 100km then 1 bar will dissappear...mine 60km gone 1 bar without the broquet..ill get 1 when the shop opens...see if theres any changes in mileage f/c...

check e mileage..if high mileage u may need to do valve clearance at 100k. but most important must gt akra/lv/scorpion pipe!!! hahaha..

Which bike shop u go to??? i did all my mods at Bikeworkz like cutting of airbox, changed BMC air filter, De-cat the exhaust, taking out the thermostat and all other servicings. No need to waste money to change to Engine Ice. One bottle of Engine ice is $35, one bottle of Maxima cool-aide is $20. I rather changed my coolant more often like every half a year. Drained the old coolant, flush with tap water and change to new coolant for $20 only. Make sure u drain out the coolant in the reservoir tank too.

U should do a throttle body sync (same as balancing the carb) for your bike since u just bought it. The bike will run more smoother. other than that just let the mechanic check your bike, check clutch cable, wheel bearing,steering cone,check air filter whether dirty or not,check your chain and sprockets, battery etc.

Broquet, u can check at its website on which 'T' to get. Too less, not recommended. Too many, under utilize, waste of $$. IMO, this kinda fuel saving add-ons are more or less a waste of $$.

180km with 2 bars left is pretty normal, u're riding a 1litre bike.

i cruise at on average 85c coolant temperature even on a hot day on the highway. goes down to 75 at night and as low as 50c in the rain. Never goes above 105c.

 

After doing some mods to my coolant system that is.

 

Wat kind of mods?? Any tips??

My bike's clearance is about to hit 40K but when I asked my bikeshop about the servicing ah, the boss says that 40K actually no need to do one. Wait for 70-80K.

Any advice on this?

 

 

2. I wanted to put a camera on my bike, to capture the ride. Have anyone of you did the same?

I am thinking of getting the Hero camera, but seems there is a problem of actually mounting the camera on my FZ1S Fazer.

Not too keen on the mount on helmet kind, as it looks kind of weird to me.

Any advice on this?

same. i asked a few bikeshops. all told me the same thing. 40k valve clearance not compulsory if no indication that its needs to be done. so i will just follow that. mine about 50k already so far so good.

Basically i will follow the manual to do the major servicing. Dont listen to the boss. If the bike later go problem, then he will say why didnt you do valve clearance at 40000km? etc etc.
