something about judgement...

 

many a times, friendships are ruined because of judgements being passed without trial... inference makes life easier but is it a fair tool to profile a person... an action performed needs to be taken into account the mitigating and aggravating factors... it should not be construed to be what we assumed it to be...

 

anyways here is a nice story i learned on how easily we steorotype people based on our mental models...

 

A man got up the bus with his 2 kids. The bus is crowded with full seating capacity and also several standing passengers. The man spotted a front seat and sat while his 2 kids began to run around. The 2 kids are oblivious to their surrounding and started to laugh and giggle and chase each other much to the ire of the passengers. The father just sat there without bothering to discipline his kids. Finally a fellow passenger could not take it anymore as the kids continued to play in the bus, and told the father to do something to the kids. The father looked at the passenger with sorrowful eyes and said: "sorry sir, their mother just died this morning and I don't know what to do."

 

well... this short passage is just to bring across how our emotions move along from being irritated by the kids to sympathy for them. We know not their circumstances and we tend to infer playful noisy kids with feelings of irritation, a nonchalant father as irresponsible... but when we make a genuine effort to understand the situation, that their mother died... the playful noisy kids are no longer irritating but needs comfort and understanding, the nonchalant father as one who is in grieve and needs help...

 

 

Just a few liners to round up...

a few lines of unconsiderate words might ruin a person completely.

anyway, who u referring to?

just sharing some thoughts tats all... i learn that communication is a vital medium to build relationship... so just tcss... hehe...

 

anyways the story i read it from somewhere... i not so high calibre to create it myself... but it sinks deeply in me as it is a good piece of story... i hope i am able to bring across the ideas correctly haha...

actually i gathered ppl at 824 is just that the outing was meant for tampines riders, but didnt expect it would come all the way here. lol

if its an outing here, i would suggest like bedok 85, or even a short riding trip to lao ba sar, more variety of food. so whoever is there die also must east something, cannot watch ppl eat, if not must treat everyone drinks. good idea right?

 

btw, dont think u say what 1 more tampines 824 i will forget everything about my meal. =D
