The metal frame made out of hard wire to hold the oil tube in place so that it will not get caught into the sprocket.

Going to replace my spark plugs after 10,000km, this time I bought the recommended spark plug as per manufacturer guide, Denso U24ESR-N. For NGK the part is CR8E. The Denso one cost only $5 per plug at the shop beside FJT(Honda Spares) at Rowell Road. If you want NGK plugs can try asking FJT.

Its cheaper than CR9EK Bandit/GSXR400) which I bought from KS last year which the uncle told me can be use for Impulse400, which cost $7 per plug. Using the CR9EK I have to crank at least 3 times during cold start because its a colder plug compare to CR8E(which the manufacturer recommend).

Hopefully with the correct spark plug installed it will be easier to start in the morning also its a saving of $8 for a total of 4 plugs. Which I can actually use the money save to buy a oil filter. Will go to the same shop again tomorrow to see if they sell Suzuki oil filter cheaper, cause KS is over rated and chop us like carrots.

Next Project I am going to DIY to paint the bike.

The parts to be painted will be the frame, engine cover, tail board, side cover, front fender, speedo meter cover and the fork.

I will be using the Rustoleum Black Gloss Paint. I wont be using any primer as I am painting back the same color. The fuel tank I will send to RSP to paint for me, after I get my bonus end of the year.

Design I am doing is as follow

Sandpaper (400grit, 800grit, 1500grit) : $3.60

I find it worth the money which I pay for, 3L of fully syn at only $27. My engine and gear transmission feels smooth, so far only travel approx 100km with the new oil will see how far the oil can stretch. Anyway I never rev above 6k rpm and I use my bike mainly for transport to and fro from work which is less than 20km.

I am also using the CARLUBE fully syn for my car, and the engine feels smooth and perform equally well compare to other more reputable brand.

You got baby face is it, the front sprocket, I bought from KS for $45 only and the spark plug caps, 4 for $20. Spark plugs price 4 for $28. Unless the price jack up again.

Btw should check with Guan Hoe at rangoon, suzuki showroom and dealer for spares. Some parts they are cheaper than KS, and vice versa.

I'm at early 30 so maybe look too 'young' for riding this nostalgic bike.

Have to find out more from this thread to see where can get cheaper parts.

My handle bar trembles a lot if let go of one hand at low rev during high gear.

I've bought a set of steering bearings at $20, from KS.

But the workmanship costs much more than the bearings itself, $40 at Unique Motor, $50 at Planet Motor.

I can still tahan the vibration if not let go of one hand, so bear with it now first.

Also want to get the new brake levers. Wonder how much it is sold at KS.

Recently managed to take the fuel tank down and did some electromagnetic shielding at the bike's ground core with magnetshield plates.

Going to try to put Mu-metal plates with better shielding this weekend.

And where is the air/fuel mixture screw? Currently I can only locate the idling speed screw.

Going to try that air/fuel mixture, as the smoke smells too rich in petrol.

The brake lever can get from Ah Boy only $8, original one will be very ex.

I bought the steering cone bearing and change at Universal workshop, workmanship is $50, no choice as my steering cannot turn already. Will be cheaper if change at JB.

The air/fuel mixture screw is under the carburetor, near the float bowl. Turn all the way in until you feel a slight resistance than back out 2 and 2/3 turns out. I find that this setting is the best so far, engine is quiet and smooth.

The engine is very similar but the carburetor is different, I feel the impulse engine runs smoother compare to bandit.

The Suzuki Impulse was once used by SCDF being scrap now by Kiat Lee Group, might be worth calling them for spares.

Anything like lose power, first thing to check are the spark plugs.

In rainy days, it is definitely the spark plugs got wet due to loosen caps.

Change spark plugs first.

If you spark plug rubber caps look very worn, go to KS Motor to buy the new spark plug caps and replace them. Don't worry the caps can last many years.

Each time after you or any mechanics changes the spark plugs, better examine by yourself that the rubber caps are tightly capped. Some mechanics don't bother but it matters to this bike in rainy days.

Look at the side of your carb its at the float bowl, use a phillip screw driver to loosen to drain out the fuel. Experience it the bike choking after heavy down pour, I have since replace the rubber cab so far no issue after that.
