Hi all,may i know where I can get crash bar for Shadow 400?

Can try First Motor at Ubi just beside TP HQ. They customised crash Bar.

Not sure how much! They fit my crash bar which I have bought from a forumer here. Crash Bar fitting top point fit to the radiator scew not strong so they customisied a strong holding point, charge me $20 to fit crash bar and $40 for strong point. Should be reasonable :cheeky:

Got this definition from Wikipedia:

Crash bars also refers to motorcycle engine guards. They are commonly made of tubular steel bent into a "U" shape and mounted to the sides of a motorcycle's lower frame. They primarily protect the bike's engine and body panels during slides or tipovers but also serve as a mount point for accessories like highway pegs, lights and, on police motorcycles, sirens, cameras and radar guns.

there are 2 main shape for highway bar:

U shape

Anchor Shape 1

Anchor Shape 2

Anchor Shape 3

As claimed, There's a need to drive when we have a Family. But all that is needed to ride is Dream... Many are still dreaming about it.

anyone here has a shadow 400 crashbar customised by sengkwang or bought it online somewhere etc? i wanna borrow it...

reason is i wanna get factory to mass produce it, but shadow 400 got many different models, all can fit same crashbar? if mass produced, price should be ard $200 plus or so, depending.

time to do something 4 the shadow community...

cos i'm getting one sooooon :D

Hi madman

You will need to take notice of two different type of Shadow 400, one with foot pegs and the other floorboards. Thus, the two will have two different mounting points.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

i think 02model onwards different liaoo

Correction. It should be 2004 version onwards because the Honda Shadow 400 I bought in 2004 was the pioneer version for rider floorboards and HISS. :)

hi

i also getting a cash bar to fit to my shadow 400 (2007 version). but no luck in finding a good and robust one. sengkwang quote too expensive :giddy: . however below are the few feebacks you may take this into considerations:

1. the problem on mounting the cash bar lies in the constraint on mouting to more than 4 strong points due to many different version of shadow. i have brought one online and had sold it to "JJ007" as i find that the 3 point contact is not strong enough. inaddition the length of the cash bar is also a mismatch to the mounting point screwhole to my bike.

2. the length of the mounting point varies and a one size fit all crashbar "might" not be able suit all cruiser(different version i meant i.e. ACE or shadow sprite).

Hi Marlboro,

You are right to say that the 3 point contact is not strong. The crash bar you sold to me have to be re-customised with two additional strong point at the top end. Although the length match my older version Shadow ACE (98 model) it tend to glace the kerp as it is too low. For your info please.

i can do that but it will be very hard to judge and customise on the fitting. you need to measure and need to do alot of calibrate to get the perfit. challenging but do able..
