Im less 5" 10....weighs merely 50kg and my seat height is one of the highest for vee.cos of modification.....

There are some others less tall and lighter than me and still riding the bike...

Once u get the confidence no problem handling the bike....it's whether u like riding a very rough v-twin adventure bike or not....

Hi guys, today when going to work as usual warm up the bike before heading off. To my surprise, I found out that there was a substantial petrol leak underneath the sump guard. The leaked happened when the bike was warming up. The bike was on sidestand. Before this it was ok. No leakage or whatsoever even when doing the same routine everyday or when the bike was parked stationary on sidestand. Upon reaching work, decided to check again but so far no traces of leakage. Will continue to monitor again later. Does anyone of the bros out there ever experience this? Is this common/uncommon or is it that one of my gasket has already worn out and need to be replace. Appreaciate your advise. Thanks:)

That's exactly what happen. Didn't ride it over the wkend and today this happen for the first time:( So you reckon it is normal? I'm just a newbie at this bike and trying to know more of it as much as I can. So far now no leakage. Hope it's not something major that I need to worry about. Would love to hear from other riders out there who ever encountered this.

not major provided u keep the smokers away before u start the bike, it just another quirks of the storm , just ride it every 3 days , it should relief her wetness

Bro I hope it's just evaporation or excessive overflow... Have check other areas and found no leaks on other parts of the bike. Anyway it's petrol and not oil which was leaking. Guess she need to be ridden often. Just went through the VSRI forum and encountered a topic on this by a local guy. Exactly the same problem. Apparently his was rectified after a change of the injector O rings. Could this be one of the cause. Just wondering... Sigh.

dont worry too much just ride it periodical , the problem will come an go, come again n goes again

i suspect the prob is cause by the fuel in the tube expanding causing it to leak thru the seal , regular riding helps to reduce the pressure

You got to pin-point the problem. From my understanding of the techanical side of the fuel delivery system. There are 3 points you can look into.

1. In between the fuel pump mounting and fuel tank, there is a rubber gasket. Deterioration of the rubber gasket may cause fuel seepage through the fuel pump and cause a leakage.

2. Fuel delivery hose. Deterioration of the hose due to rubber aging.

3. Like you mention in the earlier replies, fuel injectors o-rings.

Hi guys, so far there is no oil seepage. Absolutely none. Warm her up to ride home yesterday evening from work and again today to work. It's behaving very nicely. Just keeping my fingers cross and try not to worry too much abt it. ChaoPuzzy1968 guess this must be one of the many strom unique traits huh. TaNK3e will keep in mind of the point which u've highlighted if it happen again. Did a check and so far all is in order. Thanks guys. Among all the issues that this beast had, I get pure joy and excitement each time I take her for a spin. Perfecto!! Better than the XRV that I used to own previously;)
