hi bros.. im still not sure if i need battery chargers for my bike batt..

cos i will only start my bike on wkends due to ns, n by then e batt will b weak 2 crank..

 

If there is no electrical leakage, and your battery is in good condition, it is not a problem. If your battery can only last for two cranks, it's time to put the battery on load test to determine it's health.

 

so peeps out there gt any recommendations if i nd a batt charger?

anw how am i gonna use it if i had one, do i have to take out e batt evrytime b4 use, den charge it first or is there othr convenient methods too?

 

I have a short length of cable from the each of the battery leads, terminated to connector. When I need to charge the battery, I just mate it with a corresponding connector to my battery charger, there is no need to remove the battery. When the charging is done, I tuck the cables inside the sideboard.

The battery should have the ratings printed on it indicating the amp n hour. If you have a multimeter than you can always test it after charging.

you can add in a cut off switch @ the ground.turn it off to prevent the battery from draining

 

if your battery is in good condition,its should be ok.

Btw, If your bike display panel is in eg, digital the memory settings will be gone after you remove the battery.

Hi, I got a Yusa wet-cell battery installed for my Piaggio X8 scooter about 8 months ago. The battery went low on power and could not start the engine yesterday. Read 11.9V. Took out the battery and saw the electrolyte level was super low, as I have not top up any water since using it!! Yes, that's my negligence.

 

Wanted to seek expert opinion on the likelihood of the battery spoiling permanently because of failure to top up battery water, like in my case.

yup..its digital.so if take out batt den evrting reset..worst ting is bike gt no fuel indicator, so muz depend on mileage(digital) to estimate e fuel.. anw its ok, cn always open tank n see e fuel.. btw how to install a cut off switch at e ground, izzit juz a normal switch to connect/disconnect e gnd.. gt suggestions for wiring n switch tat cn take 12v?

Normally it would last around 18 months. But if you were to charge it often and also recondition it, the battery would last more than 2 yrs. Mine is already 3 yrs, still going strong on both bikes.

It is not good for the battery if the battery water is too low - this shorten the battery lifespan. After you have fill her-up wuth battery water - do have her charged up again fully. Try reconditioning her as well.

All chargers work well for batteries, different modelshave different function & charging rates. The XS3600 is a 3 mode 3.6amp & the XS7000 is a 8 mode 7amp charger. Itis really your choice, depending on your needs.

With regular maintaince charging & reconditioning, a correctly specs battery should ( IMHO ) last 3-4 years. My own bike last 3.5 years.

Hi mate

 

The XS3600 has a rapid & inaccurate switching from 0.8a mode to 2a mode & 3.6a mode due to the 2 contact surface been too close together & they are not placed tighly as well. To solve this issue, hold the charger main surface area downward firmly then activate the switching mode button.
