You might want to check out the Garmin Oregon 400. Handheld, waterproof, shockproof, AA battery life up to 16hrs.

I have the Oregon 300 and it rocks!

lacrimosae, does your oregon get "stuck" and not move after like coming out from a no signal place?

i switch on mine, get full signal, then walked into a building... (no signal)

then walk out to a place with full signal.

but the map is not moving.

i have to switch off and on again and it works.

is the set problem or???

My Oregon 300 does not have this problem. After entering a tunnel or building and getting a "satellite reception lost" message, upon exiting my GPS goes online again and it gets a fix on my location (from tunnel or building exit), and continues tracking.

I do get drifting occasionally when I am stationary but it's fine when I stop again after moving.

Might wanna bring your set in for a check up?

If you check the rest of this thread, you might find many locations from where you may purchase Garmin units.

But for your convenience of not having to trawl through all that staggering 34 pages, you can get a Garmin Oregon 400 through me for S$1,299.00, which includes delivery to your home. :cheeky:

Garmin only appoints the local dealers

http://www8.garmin.com/cgi-bin/dealers.pl?country=Singapore&dealer_type=All&SUBMIT2=Show+Dealers+for+this+Country

It's up to the local dealers to appoint their sub-dealers and TM is only a sub dealer. Going through the sub-dealer list, TM is indeed absent from it.

That list is only important if you think the local warranty is a big deal. Eastgear is one popular Garmin vendor which is never on that list.

anyway, he tried to sell me the 60csx for $560, handlebar bracket $30... trying to chop me?

Eastgear is selling the 60CSx for SGD499, and their prices are consistently lower than the authorised dealers. Having said that, there is a price to pay for local warranty.

so if i get something from eastgear and it screws up within a year... i can't send it back to eastgear?

Like I mentioned earlier, there is a cost to local warranty, and for 60CSx, the price difference is $60.

However Eastgear does provide you with a shop warranty, ie. they will get it fix during its warranty period.

I am not promoting Eastgear in anyway and I have not bought anything from them yet.
