hey guys,my voltmeter show my batt when bike moving is 13,then if bike stop the voltmeter will show abt 11-12,is tat mean tat my batt is getting weaker????

is ur voltmeter connected thru ur headlight?

 

if so den the reading may not be 100% accurate as taken from the batt directly.

i just started riding my super 4 for 2 month..

 

just curious what should i look after to keep my bike in good conditon??

 

example like the coolent or the engine oil??

 

anyone kind enough to tell me how to maintain super 4?

 

coz my 2b bike was phantom,super easy to maintain:smile:

i left my bike for cone-rod repair this morning.

 

just wondering a few things.

 

1. does this consider overhaul engine?

 

2. need run-in after that?

 

3. when they repair the cone-rod do they service other part in the engine like timing chain or piston etc?

 

 

any1 has any experience?

Yes or no you might as well make it one. For what you are doing, the cone and cruncher bearing and pins may have to be changed too..might as well grind valves etc..in thiis case..engine block overhaul.

ah pek, u mean i should just do a overhaul?

 

my got quite loud sound when i throttle coming from the engine there. so there say is cone rod problem. dunno what they will be changing. i left on the shop ytd, so monday calling them to update myself.

 

so after my block overhaul, need run-in?

If you change piston rings (which you might as well since the engine block is open out), not actually running in but just don't trash the bike at hi rpm. Its okay to rpm up to 5.5k to 7rpm as your block cyclinder wall is not new..IMHO.

ON SECOND THOUGHT...it may just be your exhaust header gasket leaking. Its a 4 pcs ring like copper sleaving that seats inside your engine exhaust ports. I'm saying this because cone rod hardy fails and this is the first time I heard for a S4. Please check again with another shop. I'm saying this bekusz you said "when I throttle".:sian:

i went 3 shops actually.

 

1st shop tell me, either timing chain or cone rod

 

2nd shop, confirm cone rod

 

3rd shop, either vtec or cone rod.

 

 

so since the engine is open le, can i ask them to tighten the timing chain?

 

how much to change the piston rings? like u said since its already opened... haha

 

tml will call them or visit the shop to see hows everything doing.

Prices I would not know. As for timing chain tension, gues they should know what to do.

hi

everytime after i open vtec and stop .... my bike feels like its going to stall

eg ... open vtec run , stop at traffic light , when i'm going at gear 1 , the bike sound like dying than i have to throttle hard ....

another prog is , there's alot of black smoke when i throttle hard ......

 

 

mine bike is 9years old should i wash my curb ?? some mech said old bike better dont open curb , if not alot prob de ??

Yoz all.. i wan know if the tyre got a cut and its not a hole there is no way to mend it izit? cuz mine puncture and was advise to change the whole tyre... how sia? plz advise..

anyone here installed mainstands on their vtecs and hows e review so far? is it stable? wil e bike "sleeps" after awhile? appreciate all replies. tks.

You are probably riding too slow and your combustion is not completed and the exhaust is being 'choke' with black soot..you need to clear your exhaust and use valve cleanser. If you need to clean your carbs without dismantling it, pm me.

Depend on where on the tyre it is cut and bad in deepness it is..best advise is to have it change if its bad. As for mending the damage..can reinforce with epoxy compound if its mild but if its too deep, its better to have it change.

From what i was told, for the VTEC series, only from Spec 2 & later can fix a main stand. Spec 1 cannot put mainstand.

 

I have not heard any feedback from those who did install.

For those who previously rode Ver S, PB1 & later upgraded to VTEC.

 

Is VTEC noticeably stronger throughout the ENTIRE rpm range?

 

For VTEC 1, if I use K & N air filter, GPR exhaust ( end can only ) & DynoJet

Will there be noticeble increase in power? What will the fuel consumption be like?

to put it simply, only hyper vtec cannot put mainstand.. with K&N air filter and dynojet, you will get an increase in power... :angel:

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I got a tyre slash a few weeks ago and decided to change. Reason was the tyre slash was deeper than the grooves on the tyre. If your slash is pretty shallow I think you can probably still keep riding (just keep checking the tyres). But if it is deep like mine, don't take any chances. I rode it for one more week before rushing to HKL to change the tyres.

 

I think the tyre repair kit was only for punctures not slash cuts.

No..its close or equivalent to valve grinding which cost a lot of $s. This one I'm referring to is a liquid added to your fuel and while you ride, it doe sthe job. Its from Liquid Moly. If you can't find it, pm me.
