this one is definitely a great buy ... great looks with great japanese quality/reliabilty ... the weight shud not be an issue unless you want to re-convert to dirt ... other than that it shud be a great bike for everyday use and weekend track days ... :thumb:

I doubt you can bring it to the dirt with the unswappable 310mm front rotor but who knows? :D The US spec DRZSM comes with the same exhaust that has been on the DRZ since day one. Those I've seen here are the Japan spec ones with the oversized muffler and "cone" shaped endcap.

EDIT:

A pic i took last week...

Just took a peek at the DRZ SM earlier today. Very nice. Has lotsa nice goodies. Oversized rotors front and rear, 4.5 rear rim, inverted fork, rear shock adjustment, MX style swingarm... Jealous man....

I think the DRZ is a very reliable bike. I have absolutely no complaints with mine.

I assume FC = fuel consumption? I get about 23-24km/litre on my bike :thumb:

I'm getting only 21km/L after the JD needle swap but I'm not complaining man. And what the hell are you jealous abt?! You got Ohlins and Yosh goodies all round!!! You are never satisfied!!! :D

actually they are almost the same...juz dat they use different carb and the cam inside the engine oso different.

the compression ratio for the S version 11.3:1, so need to replace the S version base gasket to the E version base gasket to get 12.2:1 compression ratio of the E version bike

for further info on how to mod the S version to the E version, refer to this link.

DRZ 400S mod to E version

for a start, i wonder if we can get the base gasket of the E version here in sg......and those jetting kit, avail in sg too?

Certain brands of jet kits are available locally such as the FMF. But the James Dean kit for the E model with FCR is not. How abt the DJ kit for Mikuni CV carbs? Available here? Any S model owners can shed some light?
