hey guys this morning nothing much 2 do i jack my front wheel on a bike stand and spin it. like not very smooth leh... any gd shops 2 recommend ?

DRZs do not come with full floating front brake discs. There will be a certain of brake pad contact.

There is no way you can make it free spinning unless you remove the brake caliper.

based on my average mileage of 24-25km/L, i always switch to reserve at ~165km just in case.

why u don't wait until it finish then switch to reserve? are there any difference?

i normally does go pump once i've reached abt 160km.. but sometimes throttle happy, sometimes highway 80%, so sometimes switched to reserve..

if you never switch your reserve before, IMO occasionally turn it.. last time my friend's RVF also never touch his fuel tap before.. got once forget to pump needa switch to reserve but tap got stuck..

then also LL push bike and call for tow truck to fetch his bike to petrol station..

no harm switching to reserve anyways.. if it's harmful to the bike, why they had it in the first place???

then you cannot change your brake setup.. if you are on Brembo calipers, the "eeee eee" sound will be killing you..

it's normal to have the sound.. during low speeds when stopping, or when you press the brakes gently.. but not all the way while travelling..

the culprit is the brake dust.. you can always use a brake cleaner to temporary stop the sound.. it'll come back after a few rides..

based on my average mileage of 24-25km/L, i always switch to reserve at ~165km just in case.

just in case??? tried and done that already.. scared history repeating is it??? hahahaha!!!

u wanna ride halfway ur bike stop cause no petrol meh?

that's why must practise how to "know" when bike is going into reserve and switch the fuel tap at the crucial moment..

for me, if i know i'm going to reserve soon, i'll never travel at lane 1.. always try to keep to the side.. when there's opportunity, then i will switch to reserve while on the move..

but sometimes, cannot make it in time.. bike died before i can switch..

so stopped at road side to switch and then carry on..

but best to switch it after you stop the bike.. safety first mah..

fuel tap also not that easy to switch, you may need some strength and technique to do it effortlessly.. especially locating it while on the move..

know your mileage and riding habits.. there's no harm going into reserve, especially when you wanna test your mileage..

- top speed (varies, but why wanna reach top speed? average 150kph)

- fuel consumption (in km) (this varies a lot on your setup.. 12km/L to 35km/L also have)

- fuel tank capacity (10L with 3L reserve.. can upgrade till 28L tank)

- engine oil capacity (1.7L w/o oil filter change, 1.8L w oil filter change..)

- number of spark plugs (single cyclinder, so 1 sparkplug only)

- how regular u go for servicing (normally every mth or abt 3000KM)

ur help is pretty much appreciated!

i gonna rate it 5/5 if i'm comparing with all the bikes i've rode before..

as DRZ is versatile, rugged, good posture, good FC, many accessories and affordable..

DRZ bros here, I'm curious how many fans does DRZ has ar? I was shocked when it just suddenly on by itself when I switch off my engine and just on my switch after riding back to camp, then the fan just turned on by itself. but only one fan on my left side. How many does it has?

Anyway how often we need to wash our carb and do all the necessary servicing?

And what are the standard service to maintain our DRZ. I'm a noob, just bought a DRZ 400sm. Need help here. Thanks. Btw, my FC is 19km per litre, how to make my DRZ more Fuel efficient? Changing of jetkit? Any other ways too? Thanks thanks...

Posted

1 fan on the left side only.. coolant hot, fan on.. basic bike setup, unless you bike is air cooled..

wash carb depends on individual.. some wash upon certain mileage/months/races, some wash when FC becomes bad or carb choking..

servicing pretty standard, 3k change engine oil..

for me, i'll change sparkplug only if it had fouled.. cheaked every few servicing..

normal iridium plugs for me..

to make more fuel efficient, travel at 70kph.. use stock exhaust, carb and control your urge to speed..

changing jetkit might even increase your FC..
