My (DRZ) insurance is over $600 (No. 2 insurance), i am older than you..

Best way for insurance is to check with bike shop as they have updated price list...here forum is just for estimate the price ONLY.

my age too far from yours.. mine is in the 500 zone for TPFT..

my guess for you would be at least $800++.

it's best to check with bikeshop or insurance company..

Even for EO, i wouldnt be doing over the border..

simple things like EO can also prove fatal if done wrongly, imagine they never screw back the nut properly, hence causing oil leaks..

Furthermore their EO was kept for dunno how long.. I was at a very popular shop, i saw their EO being manufactured in 2004 still on the shelf..

there's nothing at JB to risk my precious bike on.. the only times to cross over is only for track days on bike..

IMS tanks are rare in SG.. perhaps you wanna see if you can try to ship in via ordering thru ebay.. IIRC, IMS tanks only for DRZ-E and S only, not sure if the mountings are the same for SM..

Clarke and Safari make tanks for DRZ-SM..

the stickers done at shops always do not have copyright..

you will see another similar if not exactly the same decals on another bike, else you are the one choosing the other person's decal..

I always like personalisation.. i always believed in my own unique bike..

therefore, told a friend i wanted a anime decal.. and here it goes..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/biting_point/DRZ/Image227.jpg

I'm 100% sure i wun see another bike running the same..

peeling is definately from acts of negligence, but the bubble shouldnt be works of a good quality decal..

the good thing abt DRZ is change its look by changing decals..!!

was quite obsessed over those little dirt marks struck at the corner of the stickers, so always use cotton but soaked with alcohol to dig it away, guess i over did it =(

i seen guys with total pure white or black plastic sets on their zees, anyidea is that a fresh new aftermarket plastics and tank or is there a way to remove the stock decals? my stock tank decals seem to have a layer of lacquer over it

you can actually remove the stock tank decal with a very sharp pen knife..

but the decal that came out with it will have to come out with the lacquer also..

for my totally gloss black tank and shrouds are actually stickers.

most of the sticker shop should be able to do it..

i think you cannot use your current chain..

if you wanna use back your chain and increase the drive ratio, you can down the front spocket to 14 instead..

Today went to motor shop and the mechanic told me "over heating" is a very common problem for DRZ, they have received several cases of overheating problem and solved it by changing the coolant hose, coolant and other parts. Is it true? Then what's the main reason of "over heat"? Throttle too much? riding a long journey 200km without stop? faulty coolant pump?

I am considering change those parts on my stocked DRZ now because I don't want to get into "over heat" trouble which may leads to overhaul (the mechanic guy told me).

Ok I shouldn't listen to the mechanic guy but I do feel he got a point here: Each bike will have its unique problem, so is DRZ400....

overheating was never a problem on a DRZ with good cooling efficiency..

on a hot sunny day, coolant temp is at abt 75 degrees Celsius when on the move..

occasional traffic stops will only get it to heat up to abt 90..

rarely it will reach boiling point.

unless of cuz you are stuck in a traffic jam, and tell me which bike dun overheat during traffic jams??

and if you are saying long haul trips like 200km.. can your butt tahan the 200km without stopping??

when bike is running, air passes thru the radiator fins thus cooling the coolant via heat exchange..

if you had a heating problem when on the move, you should check your water pump first, not the coolant hoses..

In my FAQ, i've "tackled" most of the common problems like loctite fix for primary nut, stator bolts, regreasing..

overheating is definately not on the list of common problems of DRZ..

B/2T will be enough.. I got the B/2T because B/3T cannot squeeze into my tank.. our stock tank is 10L..

eh i got both a 3T and a 2T squeezed into my tank o_O wth?

True True, besides riding style, there are too many factors to consider a fair comparison. Weight, load, fuel type, exhaust system, tyre Pressure, sprocket size to name a few..

So anyone experimented with both B/2T and B/3T? Is there a significant difference? I quote the site, "Each B/2T will treat 10 litres of fuel". I'm thinking it should be sufficient for stock tanks and I can save some dollars for other accessories =p7

About the difference, im thinking of trying it out. between riding as smooth and gently as i can and as rough and "whack" as i can with a 2T, a 3T and with both in it. meaning 6 times.

Thing is i have some inquiries about doing it, hope you guys can help me out here.

Will the readings/results i get be accurate if i,

ride for around 20km then go pump petrol and repeat the cycle?

or do i have to ride for close to full tank as much as possible to get a better reading :o?

and yea getting the broquets out. LOL i heard can use some wires to hook out the broquets or use some magnet kind of thing to get it out.

Hey bro..

DRZ to Krabi..

Biting_Piont, thank you sooooooooooo much and I think I probably have to re-consider this long trip...

However tomorrow my friend and I will go to Melaka and he will ride his SP4 while I will ride DRZ-SM. I want to do a test water first and of course this 500KM ( round trip ) journey also need extra cautious and thorough preparation.

I will update my status when i am back from Melaka tomorrow evening, I probably will ride at 110km/h and stop for a rest every 100km and also make a petrol top up every 200km.

Thank you Biting_Point, I really appreciate your advice and I hope next time i can share my experience with other Zees....

Hey mark, really apprecieat u sending me this link and it do encouraged me.

It's true that the seat is really uncomfortable even u try changing aftermarket seat. But I may have another solution, I'll post it here once I get the equipment.

I have decided to go this Cameron trip and I'll do necessary mods as the link suggested.
