Hi everyone,

I am currently riding a FZ6 S2 07 model red. During a routine cleaning of my bike i used a rough surface (idiot cun carelessness) clothes to scrub my bike faring surfaces and ending up with many light scratches . Would like to enquired u all if there r any ways of getting rid of these scratches???

If not if worse i have to respray my bike. i would to ask if anyone had respray before and enquire on the following details: Where to respray, cost and time taken. Any help is deeply apperciated ya. :) Thanks everyone

Best is AutoSol

Solid man

Autosol??? Won't it harm the paint surface?

Anyway you can also use 3M swirl removal. Good stuff.

aiyah, worst come to worst, replace that part or send it for paintowork.

If there's a way to remove those scratches by polishing or using some cleaning product wouldn't it be better to try those avenues first before sending it for respray/ replacing it? $$ doesn't fall the sky...

use metal polish on plastic? :?

at the T.S, try turtle wax, buff all painted plastic cowlings + windscreen and let it dry for like 15 mins then wipe off. do not apply turtle wax on the frame or those black unpainted plastics or you will regret it.

turtle wax can put on windscreen? Y happen if it touch the black plastic>? anyone has got idea how to remove those stubborn stain, i tried to wash but can remove them even wen i try to use my fingernail to scrap them the small black dots dun come off

You wanna post some pics? So as to diagnose your problem. Cos we need to see where is the stain and also what it could be.

turtle wax is Green and can be applied on screens, where are these black spots that you mentioned? if turtle wax dries on the black UNPAINTED plastic or black powdercoated frame, it will leave a light colored stain that is difficult to remove. it would need many bike washes to remove that wax stain so you gotta be careful when applying the wax, don't rub it all over your entire bike.

i think your black spots on the windshield are caused by excessive 2T from stroker bike's exhaust travelling in your front, if you don't wipe those spots off, it's more difficult to remove them later on. that's why i don't like to travel behind 2-stroke bikes. try Armorall Bug and Tar remover, it works well for me in removing these stains before i apply my turtlewax.

:) if you read other threads there is this Ah Pek and another S4 rider who uses Meguiare Metal Polish NXT for their bike and its CHROME with just Meguiare and Newspaper and some other stuff.

If you have VERY DEEP scratch i suggest you use the NXT Meguiare Wax PASTE. If its just for maintaining it use NXT Meguiare Liquid Wax and Detailer Spray. Like i said all my bike once i bought will go thru a detail cleaning and waxing. And Meguiare will give you HASSLE FREE polishing waxing and removing of the residue.

Like the magazine advertisement of the product says:"After using it you will basically THROW ALL you old products." Its ex and i stand by it till now. No regrets.

You should see the S4 chrome with Metal NXT Polisher. I BET your vespa WANTS IT BAD. :D You wanna try can call me, but must come punggol.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm mind posting some pics? Cos your really rare case. Cos Autosol is you are talking abt the METAL polish that everyone use. There is some very fine sandpaper like substance that may cause further scratches on paintworks.
