ok bro u take care . . . just check the part lists for rx125 which have the same engine (rotax 122) with the kickstarter unit . . . may be I check with Mah pte ltd to see if they have and if the whole assembly for the kickstarter unit expensive or not . . . will keep u update if u r interested too . . . .

I am interested in the entire kickstarter assembly. Will be getting it as a temporary fix until I ship in my new engine. I hate the unreliable starter motor. Thanks for offering to check it out with Mah.

is it due to too much carbon?..

yeah i think so, yoshiki told me that it might be oil seal giving problems, mech says that my settings arent right, so carbon built up is alot. giving me hell of a headache

I brought you my bullets; you brought me your love.

found that my bike after changing the conrod bearings become very hot even when i run around only 10+km at the speed of less than 80km/h... coolant temp can go up to 80+ when running...weather oso not so hot recently...and conrod bearing was changed last month.... then oso...it will be so hot until when riding i can smell a burnt smell coming from under the handle bar area...after park the bike off the engine...got smoke coming out from that area too... kindof worried... anyone got any explanations or encounter same probs? or am i jus worrying too much?

and when the bike become so hot...it is really v hard to move off or speed up...can feel the bike bogging alot at 5 to 6k rpm when its v hot...not quite normal compared to last time... last time only will like that when i whack the bike and travel more than 10+km...

can anyone advise me, i know results might be bias, is it advisable to get a rs250 or a cbr600/r6/gsxr600 (03 & below models)? i will be using the bike mostly on track, the only commuting done will be a 80km ride to the track & back home. this will be my first foray into the track, not sure if it makes any difference however i will be based in the uk.

Sounds like the burnt smell is the coolant. Quite possible that the mech did not perfectly fit the cylinder (block) and there is a leak at the mating surfaces. Hot gases are leaking from the combustion chamber into the coolant, boiling the coolant off, and causing rapid overheating.

Check the torque setting of the bolts holding the block. Check also the head gasket and seal at the bottom and top of the block.

Bogging is due to coolant leaking into block, disrupting combustion.

If its a head gasket leak, easy to fix. Got time can DIY too. If its not a gasket leak, good luck.

Better off with a Yamaha R6 or a Suzuki GSX600. Dont waste your time and $ on a CBR600.

The RS250 isnt really as awesome as its hacked up to be. But if you love 2-strokes, its the only way to go.

Hey guys, anyone else here share the same problem that I've got:

I find it hard to start up my replica. The electric start doesn't really fire up the engine. Instead, I have to rely to push start (running with the bike then kicking it in gear 1 or 2).

However, after the engine is warmed up, I'm able to fire up the engine again using the electric start.. This only happens during the first time I start the engine..

Also, my fuel leaks when my fuel **** is on and when the bike is put on the kickstand. No problem when my fuel **** is off though.

Anyone care to share what they think the problem might be?

i think you should check voltage of battery, check start up relay and starter motor brush. If it is good. You try to start by pulling choke, if it is okey, you should take care air filter, carb leakage from connector

Job's ok... I only have about 8 days in SG per month. Most of the time am overseas. No time to touch my bike. Anyway, no one comes for my DIY sessions despite plenty of advance notice, so quite obvious the kids here all too pampered, not used to light labour and getting hands dirty. Which is fine, since most youths quite guniang. Run 2km also can die. haha... I dont want anyone dying at my DIY session after removing 1 valve. Surely got plenty of paperwork to write.

You want Oakleys? Can buy them cheaper from the US.

Of course its cheap to install the kickstarter. I think most mechs will charge $150-180 for opening the engine case to fit it in. Our engines already have the port prefabricated. Just need to cut through that hole.

o hi..i like diy too..i did spray my bike recently..check the starter , check the power valve..now thinking to change piston ring..all myself..but too bad...in hdb area..we only can do downstair..so a bit limit ..anyway if anymore DIY session ..I m In :) :thumb:

hi everyone, i have a question too.

when i am re-fueling my petrol, should the lever/switch on the left side of the tank be turned to:

1) Off (9 o'clock position)

2) Full (12 p'clock)

3) Res (3 o'clock) ?

Appreciate your guidance. Thanks !

it does not reali matter whether you put it to Reserve , ON or OFF, the petrol still flows into your tank. I think best is to turn it to reserve if u had use your reserve petrol.

Anyone know a gal P-plater riding the new RS125? Was a Spain's No1 paintjob. I think she's really new to riding, besides the P-plate thing. Her friend was giving her lessons as she was riding in circles/practicing at Alexandra Village outside Racewerks at the roundabout at the end.

Anyway, the chick apparently lost it while circling slowly, and fell on the left side with a plop. Her friend seemed to have trouble lifting it, so a friend and I hopped over to help him pick up the bike. Broken left signal and scratch balancer, but otherwise the paintjob looked fine. Bike fell on her leg, so that leg prob saved the paintwork. :D

She looked fine though, other than being worried abt the bike. :D Aren't all new riders always more concerned abt the bike than their injuries?

were you the one that went to first motor 2-3weeks ago shortening the number plate holder? parked behind first motor.. iirc.. white tank?

if yes.. i tried helping you to turn off the spanner. but your button isnt very responsive.. cause the process required you to hold on the button.. for your case.. you will nv know if you manage to hold the button.. :/
