1 : if monthly servicing were to be done , per service = $?

just general servicing (2t...orh yu..spark plug..) i dont wack ($$)

 

2 : i need a estimated closest price of a 2nd hand and new RS125 07

 

3 : disregard it as an italian bike , in general , its the same as all other

2bs out there , yes? no?

 

4 : how problematic is it? lets say if u don't whack (or not that much =X)

5 : if i were to get sp instead , i change to class 2a bike , then cls 2 bikes OR

agreed lor ... needle la , idle jet la , throttle valve la .. I dun believe tat mechanics wld want to tune accurately according to ya specifications .. Coz tuning requires patience .. getting ya hands dirty all the time also .. haha

First thing first, suggest you go through the last 50 pages of this thread. Your answers are all there as this forum gets this question asked pretty often. In a couple of hours, Khai will post up his "I have answered it many times, please call me if you want to dicuss" message!! hahahhahah

 

1) I service my bike monthly, change gear oil, plugs, wash carb etc regardless of mileage. Expect to spend up between 60 to 100 bucks depending on what is required. 2T can costs about 25 to 30 bucks a bottle which should last you about 500 to 600km. Depending on how generous you set your 2T pump to.

 

2) Pricing for a 2nd hand is subjective. Based on bike condition and also mileage. Expect to pay up to S$15,000 for a new bike

 

3) Well, it has an engine and is connected to the road with two wheels, so its all the same! Bike has better handling and looks better. Does not even look like a 2B bike. Make your own assessment and decide for yourself on this one.

 

4) Again, if you dont skimp on parts and treat the bike with love and lots of preventative maintenance, it should be a non-issue. But then parts could be expensive and difficult to obtain.

 

5) Depends on how much you have to spend. There are very few 2A options

and even fewer 2A sports bikes out there.

 

In summary:

- The bike is expensive and so is servicing which needs to be done frequently. You should consider financing, insurance and other financial matters before committing

- Technical aspects could be tricky

- Power delivery isnt linear, you need to ride it pretty hard to maximize potential (between 8,000 and 11,000 rpm)

- Having said that, its a blast to ride and its fun, fun, fun (but sometimes "fun, fund, farn")

Haven't tried nor see the need to use additives as I change my gear oil frequently, and when the need arises, my clutch/friction plates and clutch components.

 

Also, to be honest, I have absolutely no knowledge on oil additives and how they work to extend operational lifespan.

 

Am going to google it now.

 

In the meantime, do you have any recommendations?

You mean additives as opposed to addictives?

 

Addictives means something which you are addicted to. In your case, could be crack (or maybe butt crack).

Lawrence , yeah. i used to have that thought too , as in frequent gear oil and clutch plates changes. However when i was recommended to it , I brushed it off like it was some insurance policy scams. But when i actually tried it , i've got no words to describe it. I mean it , if you want , i'd give it to you for free which cost me 8$ , after trying, you'd surely want more. From what i gathered aboutt his product , it's used for space shuttles , high performance vehicles/bikes for increased performance. I was told that it'd reduce metal from touching one another so there's no " grinding " thus making it much smoother. Was also told that it'd not improve your speed for instance gear 1 max 50km you add whatever also 50km but you'd shoot up to 50km much faster and when i've tried it , i couldn't believe it, alittle twist and it's up @ 5k rpm. also , it produces a sound when i throttle , not like a typical acoustic guitar whereby it is high octave but it's a very low low deep sound. a sound so muscular. anytime you're free gimme a beep i'd pass it to you for a trial. when you come back to me i'd charge double! j/k.

Anyway , i bought this stuff from a guy in the super4 non vtec forum whose giving out free advice and most of the time, he helps people to fix up their bikes for free. He helped my brother as his engine block was cracked.

 

And if you were to see the thread , there's a particular guy who mention after adding his addictive into his engine oil , the delivery felt like a class 2 whom he previously had ridden.

 

All the people there during my first visit at the outting encouraged me to try it , as i still had doubts with it not having to try it yet.

 

He had also helped me to wash my carb by just lifting up my air box and putting a noozle inside connected to a spray , it was very simple. and when he powered on my engine , alot of brown smoke/shits came out. Don't know what spray he used.

 

I'm not trying to help him sell his products but it's just too good not to share this stuff.
