Hi Khai,

Sorry I've not been able to reply you over SMS.

Going premix may seem daunting but once you get the initial preparation out of the way, the rest is easy.

Three things you need to do when going premix for the RS125:

1. detach cable to 2T pump

2. seal 2T inlet port in carb

3. remove 2T pump gear from engine

Detach cable - Straightforward enough: reduce tension in your throttle, less strain on the wrist

Seal 2T inlet port - Without 2T, the inlet port now allows air to flow into the carb freely, leaning your mixture out.

Remove 2T gear mechanism from engine - That little gear saps your engine of some power, albeit a small amount, but it is still robbing that 0.5hp away from where it needs it most - the crank.

If in doubt, take it to a workshop. Very simple and painless day-surgery for your RS125.

Sealing your 2T inlet port in the carb is also pretty easy. You can use a small wooden matchstick or toothpick, shave the edges to shape it into a rounded rod slightly larger than the inlet port. Insert wooden rod into the inlet port and cover with a small amount of resin that covers the edge of the port completely.

If you wish to sell your bike and you'd like to remove the seal, just use a pair of pliers to break the resin cap (by crushing it) and unplug the wooden rod. This is keep the inlet port in good condition (instead of plugging the port with resin directly).

For tanking up, turn your fuel tap to the 'off' position. You do not want 2T flowing into the carb when you pour it into the tank. It usually sinks to the bottom and will trickle into the carb before you start filling up.

So with the fuel tap in 'off' position, place fuel pump nozzle at an angle and open fully. Allow the fuel to churn the contents of the tank - the more violent the better! Depending on the angle of the nozzle, the contents of your tank may be swirling in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction. (it has been scientifically proven that an anti-clockwise movement will generate more friction among the fuel and 2T molecules as they go against the natural rotation of the earth. OK, just kidding)

Based on some tests I conducted with Muser a few years ago, we found that 'Injection' 2T usually mixes better with fuel with less agitation required. 'Premix' 2T may have a higher viscosity and require a lot more agitation, in fact, just churning the fuel or shaking the fuel tank isn't enough - you need the 2T and fuel in a container shaken until it foams for it to be properly and evenly mixed. Otherwise it will separate and the 2T will sink to the bottom.

* For one test, we took a few glass bottles and filled it with petrol, then poured different brands and grades (both 'injection' and 'premix only') of 2T into the bottles and waited to see how long it took to mix evenly (without agitation).

** For the second test, we used the same brand and amount of 2T but with agitation (lots of shaking), and let the mixture sit for 2 weeks. Over a period of 2 weeks, we monitored the duration taken for different 2T types to separate from the fuel.

*** We found that 'injection' 2T almost always mixes better and quicker with fuel, and with less or no agitation required. Also, over the period of 2 weeks, there was no or minimal extent of separation in the mixture, compared to heavier/race 'premix only' 2T.

If you're planning to go premix on your 250, you might wanna check with spiderman Alex on that to do for your bike.

Cheers!

but quilksilver , i use merguire. the more i polish , the more black the tissue is. because i use at least 2 rolls of tissue per polish session. after polishing i use a clean tissue to wipe it off and then it'd shine, but when i repolish the same spot , both tissue and surface becomes super black , dirtier than before. the more strength i use the more dirty , but when i wipe it off with clean tissue it's super shinny , then i repeat it again super black, what is wrong? it's like super black dirt.
