I cant make it this coming weekend, but I'd love to join you sometime next year. My baby's due for an overhaul.

 

Just a tip. A really proper run in following the manual would be good before you bring her down to track. I'm sure many of the guys here can attest to that. A rushed or hard run in usually leads to a seized piston! Afterall, this aint a hardy 4 stroke Japanese bike. It's a sensitive italian 2 stroker that needs alot of TLC to perform at its best!

did you give your bike plate number or the arrow serial no. ?

 

You can try going down personally to biketech n let dem see the serial no. to track. that's what i did. MAH have to go through dem as well coz of the distributor rights (correct me if im wrong) so there is no point goin to MAH.

 

Prepare to spend d whole day of 'waiting time' to do the cert. Gd Luck!

 

I recently just speng $200 on my RS250 to pass inspection cuz of my illegal arrow pipe and signal light , if you really got problem getting cert on your illegal arrow pipe , give me a message I give you the bike shop address you can go ask how much , its very serious offence if ride bike without road tax or insurance , singapore license very expensive dun play play

 

Thx guys ... going down on monday hope can get the cert.... i call LTA they say my bike had registered arrow pipe... should be ok...

??? oh serious ah....i picking her up on monday then probably be riding her for the whole week till i get to like 500km than to PG for some hard run in..I been doing this style of run in for all my bikes even my Husqvarna SM 125 (a sensitive Italian smoker too ) best part is of all the SM125 owners i know,mine never gave any problems, (no seize no con rod issue no nothing except for problem in speedometer)..and the SM goes to Tuas track week in week out whereas my SM bros use it daily..hmmm..could it be to daily everyday usage that causes this instead of the run in thingy?

oh another thing i recalled..my SM changes oil every week,is that why it didnt gave issues? im not sure..

 

btw abit on the new RSV4 125..i heard its claimed to be at 23bhp instead of the usual 15bhp seen in almost all 4 stroke 1/8 supersports..now that wud be another 125 world beater

Mine did 170(@ tpe) on a slightly downward sloping road with throttle at 90-95% open( i rmb still got abit left to open). 165 on a straight road(@ecp)

 

Bike is totally stock with the exception of an arrow full system. However, bike condition was not tip top in the 2nd test, coz chain was loose and dry. Did not oil my chain for 3 weeks. heh.

 

But i guess the ballpark figure is ard 165-ish from what ive read in forums for stock bikes.

 

Modded ones frm what ive read and seen on youtube vids have gone above 200(meter speed not actual speed).

In my view, depends on what kind of set up ur bike is on. Spocket? Carb? Exhaust? Etc..

 

certain 'modifications' may affect your top speed but can damn well improve ur acceleration.

I know of someone who installed pneumatic valve, Arrow exhaust, Keihin carbs (35 i think), and wasn't on premix when he clocked 180km/h on his '07 RS125. Then seized. Haha! Pity the fella. Luckily his bike can start and he rode back to the shop. Mixture was too lean if i wasn't mistaken.

speaking of premix, this rainy weather is really making me consider making my bike premix. the huge ass space the 2T tank takes up can nicely fit a raincoat and many more. hmm.... bt im a freaking forgetful person ah. Im afraid that one day i might juz forget to put in 2T after topping up. my engine gone. Esp when just convert and still getting used to the idea of premix.
