speaking of premix, this rainy weather is really making me consider making my bike premix. the huge ass space the 2T tank takes up can nicely fit a raincoat and many more. hmm.... bt im a freaking forgetful person ah. Im afraid that one day i might juz forget to put in 2T after topping up. my engine gone. Esp when just convert and still getting used to the idea of premix.

I just converted to premix myself. It was due to my oil pump spoilt. Instead of replacing it I thought of trying premix. I use a plastic bottle which I measure and mark ml scale on it. I keep my 2T under my seat all the time. You'll get used to it eventually.

I kept the 2T tank though, if not there will be a big hole and my stuff will fall off.

im thinking of removing the 2t tank and screwing in my mums tupperware or smth. to make some storage space.

so what 2T:fuel ratio u using? And anyone else using premix. Bro lacrimosae if ur reading this u dun hafta tell me. I know im never going anywhere near ur 80:1. not anytime soon at least. But even if my bike is tip to the top, the max i'll stop at is 70:1 =/ haha

btw i juz did some A/F screw meddling. Its amazing hw a tiny turn of the screw can affect the feel of the bike. I opened an extra 1/4 turn and the bike is running much better nw. Initially it was 1 turn out. I know the A/F screw mainly affects up to 1/4 throttle opening, but its makes a hell load of diff between bogging thru that 1/4 turn and revving from 0-10k rpm smoothly and feel as if ur flying =D

Anw the reason for tinkering with the screw is to find out the setting for my bike in diff weather conditions. Coz for me, i feel a very noticeable diff in the feel of the bike when riding in the day and night(esp when the weathers exceptionally cold, ie the weather nowadays with the rain an whatnot) My bike runs well in cold weather initially, which makes sense, coz when i last sent my bike for servicing, it was raining heavily, so i guess at the point of time Ah Sengs tuning was made to that weather.

Its impt to note that the things i say above is with reference to lower rpm ranges of 1-7k rpm, and its a main area of concern for me coz i notice that its the most obvious difference in feel when somethings off with the tuning. Its hard to tell performance difference when ur at the powerband, but at lower rpms, when the bike is trying to build up enuf power to propel the bike, its easy to notice if ur bikes off.

the above is juz some nonsense im writing while waiting for lunch time. =) Im hungry. grrr

I am using 50:1 ratio. So far it's been good. Smoother pick up compared to using injection.

Dun ask me why though, coz I'm a newbie :D

Very simple. Now your throttle is only pulling on one cable, not two. Previously, throttle would be stiffer because of both 2T and throttle cables being turned.

Premix doesnt increase power, just a much smoother acceleration, almost like a 4 stroke bike if your tuning is there.

You can refer to this thread; http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/295673-Proper-Premix

There is a post by lacrimose there which explain a lot.

A tip if you want to create ml scale on a bottle, fill in the bottle with water and measure the weight.

1 gram of water = 1 ml volume

+1. thinking of getting either silkolene pro kr2 or silkolene comp 2 plus. supposedly pro kr2 is better, but only if ure always on high revs like track, if not u will suffer with heavy carbon deposits in the exhausts and carb. comp 2 plus seems to be the right choice, but it is not fully synthetic. so now i duno to get one which is fully synthetic and suffer with carbon buildups or get one which is semi synthetic and suffer with god-knows-what. lol

A simple cough syrup bottle will do. I think Spiderman has the premix bottle in stock. Slightly bigger than the usual cough syrup bottle. Wanted to get from him but i changed my mind due to no storage space. Maybe u or Quikslvr can try PM him and ask.

I'm using the Comp 2 Plus. No problems at all. Carbon buildup seems not on the heavy side for my bike. 3 mths of not svcing the valve and carbs and my bike still running fine. Tuning plays a part as well i guess. So i just svc my valve a week ago cos i fear something bad might happen. Just my 2 cents.

Don't take pillion.

I use the bike only for leisure rides and track days, not for transport.

This is not a transport bike anyway. You want your lady to travel in comfort, get a Suzuki Burgman.
