I'm reluctant to share my carb settings because what works well on one bike may not for another. And I do not want to be blamed for the failures of your mechanics.

True. But given that we live in the same climate and weather conditions, ur settings could be used as a benchmark or a starting point for people with a similar set up =D

Ok lawrence u can ignore that comment. Its just another one of my countless(both blatant and subliminal) attempts at fishing out ur top secret settings =P For now i shall just work slowly on obtaining my perfect tuning.

Btw i would like to disagree with what u said about open pod filters not being practical for daily use. In the past 4 days ive been on open pod, there were points of time when the bike revs smoothly and riding it is a joy, especially so since i love the bassy sound of an airbox-less bike. Again this is because as u have duly explained, an i have personally experienced, the open pods are extremely susceptible to weather changes. For me, im a well oiled made in Singapura drone, leaving for work at 830 and going home at 1800 every day. So the weather condition is somewhat the same everyday at those times(unless it rains of course) so if i can get a state of tune perfect for those weather conditions, i think i'll be happy enough. To me those moments where i drag the bike and the revs go up smoothly coupled with that beautiful bassy sound is gona make it hard for me to switch back to using the airbox. Bt who knows. Ive only been on it for 4 days. Still got alot of testing to come =)

anw, found this superb dellorto manual. Dont know if it has been posted before but it is a MUST READ for anyone serious about tuning our dellorto carbs. I for one gained a whole new level understanding of the carbs after reading through a few sections.

Yea the forum server went down for maintenance, erased the last 1-2 pages of post and somehow, as if it were meant to be, removed lacrimosae's setup.

Hahaha...maybe someone was lucky enough to jot them down/PrtSc before hand! :p

If I change one by one they have to keep opening up the engine, which means I have to keep changing gasket, labour and stuff which cost more. So I rather one time pain.

Nicholas,

You have a receipt/ breakdown of prices for your overhaul that you can post here? INterested to see.

I think there's just one guy on forums riding that bike, though I've seen couple on the roads, looks fantastic. My sentiments are that the market for supermotards isn't that great and a dorsoduro would be a pricey purchase

Yes it will, as long as you are putting effort into it. you need to put 'quite' a big pressure on a small area until the part is very "black" and apply it again.

Get hold of a battery operated drill and get a buffing mop from the hardware store. Theres those type with the attachment to fit into the drill. Use autosol and buff. way more effective than polishing using ur hand, and less tiring too.

Smart! However there are days where I just want to spend quality time listening to some music and taking my time cleaning my bike. Nothing like gently but firmly polishing bits of the frame by hand and walking away later with sore thumbs and fingers (with the lovely Autosol smell on them) and seeing the product of your manual labour.

Hi everyone. Got into my second accident yesterday evening. Luckily i was all geared up. So no major injuries. But ive got a hell lot of stitches to the back of my right hand. Hurts like crazy. Guess it could have been a lot worse. But its sad, cos ive got like four papers next week to sit for. Cant write for a few weeks. Peak hour traffic can be a real hard ass b#tch. And the wet roads don't help. Ride safe everyone!!!!!! :)

So sad, no choice but to sell off my bike. Given my family enough scares. Period.

That's terrible bro. Glad to hear you're not terribly hurt. Speaking of which, how did you injure the back of your hand? You had gloves on? If so, did it have sufficient armour on the back (e.g. knuckle armour)?

Can't you keep the bike for leisure riding only? Ride only on sunny Sundays like me ;)

Hope you get well soon. Sorry to hear about the stitches and your exams. Just be thankful it's gonna leave a manly scar, not an unsexy stump.

I recently broke my leg from ramming a Mercedes in the rear on PIE. The Merc braked abruptly and my front just gave out and skidded ahead despite my most earnest protests.

Perhaps you'll get back in the saddle one day. Maybe I might still be riding this little pocket rocket.

Yes I'm alright. Happened in Jan. Fractured my right shin. Took IPPT following day, got silver. Crack got bigger. Hobbling about a bit but still alive and kicking.
