very simple...you go towards sentosa there, then go towards raffles place/tanjong pagar area..then continue all the way you will hit AYE keppel...when you reach the fly over, you will be at suntec. sorry if you dun understand..hahaha. actually, you can jus get onto AYE towards keppel...you will reach marina/suntec area... the exit before Fort rd

Got me left, just got home from work - turned out what was wrong with your bike? How was your valve?

Ben - King of the Click - looks like you were right: during my dinner break today, I scrubbed my valve with steel wool, polished it with Autosol, and now it clicks damn loudly, LOL! It's ridiculous - it's never ever sounded so obvious! Funny, it didn't feel particularly slippery when I put it in, though it was shiny.

Quite afew problems Chris..

 

1 problem which lead to several others..

 

Firstly, I'm changing my front brake pad.. nearly worn out..

 

I also discovered my clutch was slipping.. So brought it over to NTrust.. Firstly had to change clutch plates as they were worn out.. Then Law discovered the reason why they were worn out is coz there was hardly any gear oil left.. I think standard is about 600ml? When it was drained out from my bike, there was maybe 100ml if i was lucky.. Bascially i was running on dry clutch.. As Law aptly put it, i was RacerBoy.. So due to the fact the clutch plates were not coated in the gear oil, they were worn out faster and dry half the time.. Why was there so little gear oil??

 

My gear oil was leaking.. beacause the gasket surrounding my engine block was old and worn out.. This causes gear oil to leak through and also coolant.. Basically alot of stuff to do..

 

List of things i'm doing for my bike:

1)change front brake pad

2)change clutch plates

3)change clutch cable

4)flush coolant

5)change gear oil

6)reseal block with new gasket

 

 

Basically i feel i'm doing a minor overhaul.. It seems pricey but luckily Law is giving me a good price.. I'm already planning for a complete overhaul sometime in December.. I know you're doing a top overhaul soon rite?

 

My advice with those with 2ndhand bike.. Start saving for your overhaul.. If you're just going for a top overhaul(change piston, gaskets, etc) abt 500 bucks max should be enuff including workmanship.. Complete overhaul(includes changing gears, clutch plates, basically almost all moving parts) shuld be about 700... If you're like me, and plan to never sell your bike, be prepared for this.. If not, just hope your bike can take it till you getyour class 2A...

 

I'll let you guys know how my bike is after i get my current stuff done.. Poor Law is working OT with Botak for me..

try not to scratch the smooth surface(microsropic scratshes), the smoother it is , the harder for carbon to stick on it... try brasso/autosol with newspaer :thumb:

Dry clutch is much less of a problem than dry gears. Monitor how your gearbox behaves, and I suggest you change gear oil more often than normal for at least the next 2 months.

Thanx bro... Law did mention to me you changing your pads too.. I'll be changing gear oil quite regularly from now on.. every 1000 click or 1 month depending which comes 1st.. Till my overhaul, i wanna make sure everything runs well so i dun have to change extra things..

can consider a pen knife... better than a screwdriver.. just scrape off till its the carbon layer is thin then use the hard part of a sponge( peel off the soft part fist cos will dissolve in petrol) add petrol and scrub.. then autosol/brasso with newspaper for a perfect shine:thumb:
