BTW, DIY Master.... my SW600 sold to Bro DraggStar had the rubber thingy at windscreen dropped off on the day I passed the bike to him..... after that he experinced vibration noise whenever moving off.....do you know where to buy the rubber strip? can help me buy one original Honda SW one? If you happen to buy parts for yourself cos I know yr exams over soon so it is DIY time again???

Btw,i'm driving(honda stream) in to sunway lagoon abt 8pm onwards friday nite 13feb.Anything in particular to look out?Touch and Go card need to buy or just old fashion way pay $$ at tolls?

 

Being almost 6mths nv ride or drive in.Any advice from any forumers or Swingers will be most appreciated.

i also driving in this weekend, but to mines resort. initially tot of setting off on fri night also but later decided for sat 5am so as to siam the jam n also no need to pay for another night of accommodation. lucky i listen to the bros n bought the TnG card during our last A&W trip... can go by both 1st n 2nd link depending on where you stay, 2nd link may be a better choice coz 8+pm the causeway sure jam one.

 

driving up via the highway is pretty easy, but need to note a few things... slow down a certain areas n watch out for signages indicating high wind areas, slow down. do expect certain stretches of the HW to be pretty dark and you'll need to on high beam. in other words, cars coming from the other side (opposite direction) will high beam into your eyes too. always pay attention to cars around you and maintain a distance; if see a car closing in near (except yr friends lah), step on it pull away. do not tailgate or drive near other cars coz maybe the robbers purposely slow down for you to close in then they jam brake. if the cars "scratch" (shouldn't happen if you maintain distance), do not pull over immediately to check out but i'ld seriously consider drive on and stop at the next R&R where more pp are around. lock the car doors at all times, regardless whether at petrol station or moving around in the city.

Actually i been riding / driving on malaysian roads & highways for years and most times ALONE and early in the morning or late at night and i can safely say it is absolutely safe. Just dont be arrogant or even too friendly to the people you meet and DONT ROAD HOG. That means if you cant keep a high constant speed take an inner lane or go drive on the old trunk roads. Other highway users always in a hurry and you become NOTICEABLE if you are nervous or look like no experience.

Ah Yes i do remember all of you and been following this thread when ever i could. Been real busy with work since November and was sick in bed 2 weeks over CNY period - some kind of viral artheritic fever. But i m ok now and still riding my totally standard SW400. It done close to 24K kms now and due for next oil / filter change. Bike Going well and helping me recover. Yes would be nice to meet for coffee or coke but would prefer somewhere in the west or central.

 

Take care and do keep the thread going with lots of positive information and helpfull ideas.

just returned from KL; trip up was smooth but kenna stopped by road block n asked to pull over for speeding on the way back. was told can "compound" by settling on the spot paying Rm100... is that the market price? considered bargaining for Rm50 but later decided to pay to save the hassle... hiaz

even if u drive or ride at 300km/h. the max is only RM50. u should have bargained. i've encountered 2 situations before. 1st is paid RM50 for 2 bikes speeding at 170km/h. 2nd is sat in my friend's car speeding at 220km/h back from Sepang. also paid RM50 nia. sorry to disappoint u. btw u were alone?
