hi echris108, welcome to the SW community

the stock wind shield may be bought thru BS parts centre (but their prices sucks) or any honda parts sellers such as FJT, Eversuccess, etc.

for aftermarket such as Givi airflow, you can check out Cyclenet (Mah), see this post

Aftermarket Wind Shields for Honda Silver Wing

there're loads of useful info at our Tech Corner, answers to FAQ are there:

Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner

not so nice condition? hmmm... engine? chassis? body plastics?

if it's only body plastics, a makeover will do the trick... change bodykit and/or respray can make it look blink blink again :p

but do note that some parts may require shipping time of about 3 months if the stockists here don't have them.

all these are available at the Tech Corner...

SW Parts Catalogue

Spare Parts for Honda Silver Wing

thanks.bodywork not in good shape, dun know abt engine or transmission yet, must open then see.is it normal for rpm to be at 5+ k when cuising at 90kmh.

just discover that fork seals are blown, must check for replacement n change oil.

Buying An Used (Aka 2nd Hand) Silver Wing?

since you've already bought the bike, next is to make sure it is restored to the condition you desire... "pristine blink blink" or "functional will do" condition is up to individual preference and budget, but SAFETY is a must.

strongly suggest you visit a reliable workshop you personally know (mech has to know how to service SW) or consider one of those which the regulars here go to.

see Contacts & Lobangs: Where To Get Those Stuffs?

Post Purchase:

now that the bike is ours, the next most important thing is to make sure that the bike is properly maintained for safety and performance.

~ strip and clean the transmission assemblies… variator and clutch~ check condition of belt, rollers and u-clips, change if necessary

~ check condition of clutch pegs and clutch bell, change if necessary

~ clean or change the air-filter

~ depending on age of bike, may not need to change the flush/change coolant unless you want "special stuffs" (heard the stock coolant is very good and can last a 2-3 years no issue)

~ change engine oil, eo filter and gear oil… should change regardless of what the seller says

~ check/change spark plugs

~ check tires condition and age (i'ld change when near 3yrs old even if threads are good)

~ check wheel alignments

~ check/pump tyre pressure

~ check/test brakes, including pads (front, rear & hand)

~ check or change brake oil

~ check battery age and voltage (change or charge as necessary)

~ check fork seals n test their dampening (consider if want to change for oil or spring if very loose)

~ set the desired idle rpm

~ tune air-screw synchronisation & air-fuel mixture

~ run fuel system cleaning program; e.g. use Caltex platinum or Shell V-power or injector cleaners like FP60, STP, etc.

~ check all lights are working; headlights (normal/high), signals (left/right & front/rear), brakes, etc.

~ firm/tighten all screws

~ any others as necessary

Hi guys, I am conceiving the idea of owning a scooter (either a Tmax500 or a Silverwing) in the near future however I have no idea whatsoever on stuffs to look out.

Had been exploring some online feedback on Tmax, there seems to be some universal fuel pump issues... In terms of Silverwing ownership, is there similar issues like Tmax?

Early thanks!

Hey guys, what could be the reason behind my fjs fuel indication to be erroneous?

Could it be float sensor issue? All along is working as usual, 1st bar drop ard 80-85km. Until 2days ago. I realise my trip meter reading 80km with 2bars gone. Took my fairing out to inspect any sign of fuel leakage but can't spot any. Went to top up petrol today, fc is same as usual. Suspect my fuel sensor is faulty. Will there by any way to further trouble shoot?

TIA :D

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

Just do a FC to determine if there are any leakages. Sometimes it could be due to defective fuel level sensor. SW uses a resistive fuel level sensor. Resistive sensor maybe defective due to wear and tear.

Monitor the FC before concluding anything.
