By the way what is wrong with your LCD? No display or 'melted' LCD panel?

Good morning X-niners, LCD no lights. can faintly see the numbers. I just recky the net yesterday and found a shop that possibily can make the LCD light on. i believe if the LED can be on, the meter can be seen better, right??? The shop is at Eunos Techlink. i just try

LCD no lights or faint LCD display? If only no backlight light you should only be able to read in daylight. If it appears to be unreadable even in daylight then the Liquid Crystals are fried. Anyways if LCD Display is faulty, then the whole unit must go. Tai Hin seems to be the only place fixing evo LCD panels.....

I think there is no backlight or LED, you know those beautiful coloured lights--- green i think. well. just try. thanks for your company.

When at low speed moving off i can hear like a ticking sound from rear wheel behind you know where the "engine" is haha sorry i really dunno anything bout scooter and 2nd ting is the right brake, is the front brake if i not wrong LOL its like abit soft lei.

Ouh i might need to change the rear suspension coz i go over bumps like no comfort man its damn hard hurts my butt LOL + i'm a big rider hahaha. So can share price plz, i see alot talking bout dis botak shop. I wanna bring my x9 down for a check but scared it gonna cost a bomb.

Thx guys =)

Hi how much you letting go? Pls PM me.

Cheers,

any ladies riding one?

Btw, just curious. How long can the original belting withstand? Some say 10K - 12K and now I'm seeing someone post that Botak changes it at 18K.

What would be the safest mileage to change?

Hi bigdog.. Me too bought a 2nd hand 2003 x9 evo.. the front brake is a not as responsive as the rear. U need extra pressure to stop the bike if using right brake lever. rear brake is superb though.

I got 2 questions for fellow x9ers..

my move off rpm is around 4-5k rpm. any speed above 80km/h the rpm is 7krpm and it fluctuates between 7-9krpm for 80km/h and above. Is this normal?

I pumped about 8L of fuel, my fuel level indicator was at 3/4 mark. after riding for 50km, my indicator shows one bar below 1/2. Is this normal?

Very similar with mine bro, i can reach up to 110, 120 if slope down. But gets abit uncomfortable. Move off also 4k rpm and up. And 80 - 100 is usually around 7krpm from mine also.

But for my fuel gauge the old owner said one of the sensor got problem or something. So if wanna do need to pay around $75. Thats what he says la, but very obvious my meter sometimes drops kinda fast, summore sometimes when i switch on petrol meter shows empty LOL. Anyway i'm not sure about auto bikes petrol consumption i'm sure its higher then manual + my riding speed + my size it should suck alot.

What bothers me ALOT is the rear suspension, is it usually very hard? like very rigid? Hurts my bum and my pillion bum when go over humps. Need to find an okok suspension not too high grade. Big size rider so can't get too low grade one LOL

Hi Big Dog, me also got second hand x9. even though i have had many scootres b4, i would say this is the best scooters i have bought in terms of performance. if you start reading the x9 forum, you can see many riders brought the issue of lcd, meters, side mirrors, starting and etc. old bikes have many problems. if you bought the bike 7 years old for say 4.5 k like some shop i recky, that x9 must be veryvery vry goooood or the owner think we are stupid. but if you buy at 1.5k then you have to probably spend abit more and send it to reliable shop or worse go to agent PIAGGIO. I am 80kg and i feel rear suspension is ok. probably previous owners not so heavy

Posted

Hey bigdog, if u find your rear suspension uncomfortable, check your suspension settings. there r 4 selections from heavy to light. just set at each extremes and see which setting u r comfortable with.

Btw as for fuel gauge faulty, i am not too sure on that. mine is not intermittent but goes down steadily. This was the 1st time i pumped 8L. I will check till the bike hits 1st bar in red zone. I will post my final mileage in this forum than.

Any X9ers knows where is the headlight relay located in the evo??

Thx a bunch guys, btw if i wanna adjust the suspension pre-settings must use that hook tool? Should come in the toolbox right? BTW i exchanged my GSR for this X9. Ex owner of x9 continued my gsr installment.

I have made a police report already and they came down just now and got your finger print evidence already. Your stealing days are coming to an end. You might want to check with your thieving friends on what you will face in court when you are convicted. Hope you will enjoy your stay at changi chalet.

If LCD gone, then got to change whole unit. If you do not need the LCD functions then just bear with it. Me being a fussy fella cannot tahan so repaired a broken unit (Thankfully the LCD was intact and well), and swapped out with my original.

Call Botak at 96936520/84151724. He is at 494 Macpherson Road (Back Alley). I believe many Scooter riders swear by his services (me included), honest and fix the problem on the spot

Thanks a bunch guys, i'm looking for a pair of very strong shocks for my x9, coz the old shocks like abit chialat man, even set at maximum at taihin when i go hump i can still feel it hitting the end, 8 year old bike i think the ex owner hasn't changed it b4. Any aftermarket shocks that you guys would recommend thats pretty solid and durable? Or is it true taihin told me, use original is the best. Original quite pricey LOL but if it is the best then i don't mind.
