hi, i'd like to ask you guys smth. Is this soft, but very fast ticking sound coming from the engine normal. It is not loud at all, but noticeable when my ears are close to the engine.

But when i go to >80km/h, the fast ticking sound will be more noticeable, ie. still not loud but prominent despite wearing helmet and the wind noise.

then when i close throttle, the sound will be less obvious.

My guess is the noise might be coming from the intake/exhaust valves or its got smth to do wit the valvetrain, but then again my bike mileage is barely 3000km now. furthermore i don't really have much of a clue regarding engines.

Do you guys thinks there's smth wrong with my bike? Thanks for the replies!

 

Did u bore ur bike? New bike? How long u ride?

Could it be from the exhaust area? Metal expansion due to heat. That one common.

 

Ur bike new? Almost 3000km... Did u do ur run in servicing?

If u did not that's mean ur running on mineral oil for almost 3k.

That will be very bad for ur engine plus the particles from the running in...

 

yup done servicing already, in fact i changed oil 2 times already. currently running on fully synthetic 10w40, around 500km since last oil change. and no, i did not big bore, bike completely stock.

Better get a reputable workshop to check before small problem become BIG. Than cost more money.

Ticking fast cud be ur piston...

But it's common among big bore bikes..

 

Since it's relatively new, get it check since its under warranty..

there's a few selections of a few basic colours like blue,black,red,yellow.
