What to do, as much as i hate a lil bit of everyone, now you know what i mean. He says talk is cheap, too bad his actions speaks louder than words and due to that, many spankers, not all, just many, have come to realise his true colors.

Nope

hi everyone. i am new here!! why i cannot post anything at the sale request?

Coz they're trying to prevent spammers and people who just create accounts/multiple accounts to sell things.

Okay before i start, a disclaimer. This input may offend anyone of you, and if it does, tell me so i will edit. After all we are still a family. I shall say why i'm still here, even though i don't have a bike/license. I used to have one back in 07, oh and still miss that one. It's the one in my siggy and avatar. I met with an accident on Apr 27 2008. Some of you who can remember, good. If not then it's just extra info for you. But not to worry it's relevant to what i'm going to say in the next few lines. I'm not here to boast, gloat or whatever that i met with an accident and that i have, god willing, recovered from it. So much that i started to track abit and i started to get really into bikes. Not that i was not before the event, but even more because i realized that this was something that i wanted to do, or keep apart of for the rest of my life.

On 27th April 08, SBF cubs had a picnic event at East Coast. I still remember i was the few ones who went to buy ice back for drinks. on the way back, i met with that fateful event that still scars my right abdomen, a reminder. Was hospitalized for 2 weeks. In SICU for about 4 days, going in and out of consciousness throughout the whole time there. My right lung was half filled with blood (about 500ml of it), lacerated my liver and i permanently lost half of my right kidney. The thing about this accident was not the hospitalizations itself or not the speedy recovery i had. It was the support that i got from people i barely knew, people who i laughed and had a good time with, people whom i still wondered would be there for me when it was my rainy day.

What these people did while i was slipping in and out of consciousness really touched me. When i was down, now moderator ChipNDale started a thread to raise funds for me. He gave forumers updates on my recovery progress, and yes people did contribute. I tell you it was not a small amount. That moved me. But what really moved me was what people around me started to say, my family members. During the first few days when i was still in SICU and high dependancy ward, MY FAMILY had a hard time visiting me because there were so many people who wanted to give me well wishes! Who are this people? They are yes, our fellow SBF members. Because bikers have a heart. And it didn't stop there. Every other day, a few would visit me just to see how i was doing and sometimes when i open my eyes, i see people i don't recognise. Again, i'm not using my story as grounds for boasting. These people come just because they heard that another biker has met with an accident. This was the kind of rapport that we have built over that few outings every month. Some of us meet once in a blue moon but when we do, we talk like as if we stay with each other. Not BBM just close.

Okay so i'm wondering why the community now has taken a different turn? Is it the recent "trending" of memes that has made us troll more than usual? I would say we're not much of an online community but more like a group of enthusiasts. Yes u can use the internet to look up stuff and learn basics. But the world is your classroom! And trust me there's just so much to learn if you just sit down in front of the computer. That's why we encourage attendance at outings. Reason being, you get to see who's behind the computer and what their real names are. Whether they're handsome, cute, pretty or whatever. And also, during outings, people don't "troll" as much. Which simply means if your reason of coming to forums is to just get information and FO, your classroom just got more conducive. Yes there will still be those who come for 1 or 2 outings and leave but hey, A for the effort.

I can't compare then and now, what rapport we have built last time and what we have now. But what i can say is i do this not for validation of my skills or anything that sort. I will go out of my way if a fellow forumer genuinely needs help on his setup, or is clueless on what engine oil to use because he was using cooking oil before this. Just kidding. I don't help for praise. I don't help because i'm looking for something in return. I do this because it's my passion. I wouldn't know what i know now if not for kind gestures from other people, be it big or small. Info is still info.

So stop it with this "I taught you this, i taught you that" thing. I'm not pointing fingers but most of us here get the point. If we need to quote for every single resource or info we have, wouldn't it be like writing an essay? I remember i used to hate refererences when i do my essays. I still hate it. Information is free. We are the ones that put a price to it. And one more thing. Maturity isn't a measure of your experiences or your age. It's what you make most of your experiences and what you have learnt from it.

I still hope that this group here will continue to grow. I envy other groups who can have 50-100 bike outing at 1 month's notice. For our BBQ on the 28th apr, I forsee only the same handful of guys, mostly the regular ones. I hope more people can join because even though there will still be that regular group of guys, you won't know if u're gonna be in the group of regulars if you don't come down and try. We don't bite. So once again, do stop all this childish hoo-haa going on. We don't have leaders to tell us what to do here, i'm certainly not one and i'm sure we all want to be treated as equals. Nobody's a bad person. But u just don't put Chucky, Jason, The grim reaper and the whole gang of freaks at the entrance of Toys r' us if you want to entice kids right?

Peace. Sorry for the long, sappy entry which probably won't make sense in some parts. Tired from work lah. Again, this will just be a two-cents from me. It's still a forum so i'm still entitled to say anything i want as long as it doesn't violate SBF rules.

Goodnight people.
