So Desu Neh, wah, got to modify. Like that you also know. Now got project to do already. GD150 is grand dink i believe, but which year model of GD air filter or do all the version uses the same type air filter. Free maintenance means must maintain (Serviceable) or no need to maintain (After use throw away)? Thanks

Yes GD means Grand Dink and the new and old version use the same filter.

The free maintenance filter means you don't have to change it but you need to maintain it regularly.

If you want to convert buld to LED you need a relay and you can purchase it at Chong Aik in Desker Road.

As regard to technology for DT300i and X300Ri, they both use KEIHIN injector and ECU.

As regard to BOSCH is only in the ABS system.

KYMCO did not combine the ABS into one ECU because they are not compatible.

Till now many knows that KYMCO base management is from Honda and current technology from BMW allow them to produce smaller and lighter engine with higher output.

With the 2 technology combine KYMCO produce a better engine with low maintenance.

For X300Ri is still using steel sleeve and DT300i is using nickle plating technology.

Ic ic paiseh :p so only the ABS uses Bosch. Still instead of Japanese, Kymco uses Bosch.

Hi all, nearing 100 km mileage so far.

Not much problem with it cept that when I move off, it seems to vibrate a lot.

I wonder is that normal with the downtown or is it just me? Sometimes it is fine.

Won't mind meeting any bros here for you all to have a quick try and see for yourself.

When already move off, it is quite a smooth ride though I've got to remind myself that

it is not a Silverwing. Lol!

According to Motorsport, the Downtown boast a new engine block from BMW. And because

of the material of the new engine block, your piston will last longer and don't really have to run in

your bike, but also not to "whack it too much".

Though Ah Lau(Motorsport) did also advise me to just ride at 70 to 80 km/h, but I decided to stay off the expressway

and keep my speed to mostly 50 to 60km/h.

I do find the engine a bit "tight" at 70 to 80km/h. Anyway, what I did was to variate my speed from time to time.

Though it may be true for the engine, but the other parts are not made of the "special" material. So I suppose we still

have to run in the bike per say.

So far it feels quite a stable ride. The stock tires is doing a good job.

Oh one more thing, for those of you planning to get the Downtown, please go to Motorsport as their price seems

to be the best as I paid more for mine and have no accessories. :(

Will give more feedback after my 1st servicing at 800km.

Any bros who wish to contact me, pls msg me at 91260760. Name is Raymond.

Cheers!

Congrats Synman on your new ride :D colour?

Yup, am facing the same vibration before 4000rpm, but above 4000rpm it's ver smooth. Wonder if other DT owners face the same problems. But then again remembered was told that the clutch is like that. Come to think of it, have read it before so I guess it's normal :p As for run-in, just ride normally, no need to stick to systematic run-in. My scoot runs fine.

Yes, like i mentioned earlier, I feel the vibry a lot more than SW. But since I changed to synthetic oil, it is SLIGHTLY better.

And the oil is? Might wanna give it a try. Maxima?

Thanks parotae, colour is metallic gray.

Yes, during the start when moving off it feels a bit more vibration. Sometimes have , sometimes no.

Less after you have taken the bike for a certain distance.

Probably might my engine oil earlier as I'm not sure what engine oil did they put in for me.

Was thinking of changing to an Iridium plug but Ah Lau from Motorsport says it is not necessary.

You mean from the start you have been running normally?

My only other new bike was a CBR400RRN back in 1993/4. Haven't ridden a new bike since.

Anyway it is a good exercise for me to ride slower as I don't go that slow on my Silverwing :p

Yes from the start, have been riding normally, cuz like the pulling effect but my work place is like 7 minutes away so i always warm up before moving off. Haiz don't know good or not? Engine haven't warm up can reach work place liao ha ha ha. Yes, already got my CR7EIX iridium, waiting for transplant soon, must see mood, cuz have to take out the whole seat and the bath tub (sian). (6 number 10 nuts. 2 infront, 2 in the middle and 2 for the seat stay.) Viola! whole seat and tub removed, but becareful when you remove the tub, there is this 2 wires you need to watch out. 1. unhook the ECU diagnostic plug under the cover (rear). 2. when lifting up the tub there is this tub light wire at the right hand side must unplug before taking out the tub completely( need 2 person for the 1st time as not familiar and it's diffcult holding the bath tub out and up and then trying to disconnect the wire for the tub light.) After bath tub removed, you can access all the components like battery, fuses, brake bulb, signal bulb, tub bulb, spark plugs...

Wah, better then me, mine always have vibration when moving off :D

I Wanted to change oil at 200km at Motorsport but was asked not to by Mr Herbert and said it only need to change at 800km but i said i want to change as early as possible as new oil might have lots of unwanted stuff after riding like metal chips...hmmm sound tasty... But was told that all the scoot that change at 800km do not have any metal chips.

But... i must say, Mr Herbert was absolutely right! And there is no chips in the gear oil too!

Was reading on other forums on Downtown 300 users. So far found no one complaining about this issue.

Gonna take another trip down to Motorsport to see the tech there and see whether can resolve this issue.

I kind of think that it should feel more like when we have move off and I expected much smoothness.

But when you suddenly turn the throttle, the bike kind of response differently. Try it for fun for a short distance.

Anyway, going easy for now. Update you again when I pay a visit to Motorsport.

I am using FUCH 10W-40. Motorsports dun have Maxima nor much choices of engine oil and I prefer Maxima.

The filter should be $15, I changed thrice already.

Do you guys get slight wobbling on handlebars after closing throttle and rolling on idle? Only at times. Around 50-60km/hr

Will try out Maxima oil next :D

Didn't notice, but will pay more attention now.

What i encounter is the scoot tends to steer on it's own at times, meaning on a straight road travelling on a constant speed say 60km/h the scoot will suddenly move very slighty to 1 side by itself like the road is slanted, though the road is flat. It's not very obvious but enough to make you wonder is it because i shifted weight suddenly which i did not. Have to use body weight to steer back. Maybe i am not use to the heavier weight and lower center of gravity thus minor road irregularities may have an effect on the steering.

I read on the Taiwanese web site and they do highlight the clutch slipping issue and thus the later model are replace with shadow clutch system WHICH improved slighty.

Don't know if ours are using the shadow clutch? Seems like not hor?

And as for your sudden opening of throttle maybe due to this

(Taken from http://forum.jorsindo.com/thread-2314450-1-1.html)

Translate long story short, feeling of double acceleration only happens below 60km/h. So i guess you might have open the throttle suddenly at speed around 60km/h below thus the funny feeling.

Which group of HP Categories do you think our 300 belong to? Europe? Hong Kong or the Version with the Max 7750rpm restriction? wah Siao! ha ha

28P >7750 RPM

29P >8500 RPM

32.78P>8000 RPM

The Kymco Myroad 700i is squarely aimed at the sports touring market with it centralised perimeter frame.

A first for Kymco is an all new parallel twin cylinder engine running 8 valves and fuel injection. This will put power somewhere in the vicinity of 55 kw and top speed will be in the 170 km/h ball park.

But it’s not all about the motor with the new Kymco. The Myroad 700i features fully automatic rear suspension that is adjustable from the dashboard as well as a keyless start system.

And if that’s not enough it has a triple stacked H4 headlight and led blinkers along with 280 mm twin discs up front and a massive 260 mm disc on the rear.

Myroad 700i

The Myroad 700i is KYMCO`s brand-new flagship scooter featuring all the best in styling, engine performance, and equipment. The company claims that it has spent three years developing the advanced 700cc liquid-cooled EFI engine as well as many other sophisticated equipment on the scooter, such as the electrically-adjustable rear suspension that lets the rider choose the most suitable dampening mode for different road conditions, or the automatic ABS for excellent braking safety.

Well, Resilience, from our previous talk , it seems you really have your eyes on the 700. I have had 2 deauvilles and am very surprised from the net how the honda DN-01 is not well received. It is after all a scooter, motorcycle and feel like a cruiser. If I have the money, second hand I will surely buy it. meanwhile the other power scooter other than the DN and 700 is my current baby Suzy Burg 650. I am sure with all its technology, the 700 is a very incredible scooter but I have a feeling many people will be worried of its company tag and price

Bro Mr Biker: When I look at a bike/scoot and i say it's beautiful, I reckon it as praising a woman for her beauty. She may be exquisitely beautiful, but she may not be the one and only beautiful woman in my eyes. haha :)

I guess when new bikes or scooters appear, bikers will have reservations even if they may possess profound superbness. Some people look for real value for money and that itself cud mean accepting not so established brand for their attempts to challenge the well known brands OR accepting only the well known established brands.

I think the Koreans and Taiwanese will be giving a 'run' to the Japs in the market, for example to quote " very incredible scooter". You are right some people will hold back.

Thanks for your openness and sharing your experience on various rides.

Bro Advrider: I agree that it's comfortable for the upright posture comparable then to some sports tourer.
