Yamaha Diversion 900

Hi Guys,

 

I changed to nighthawk handle bar + brake hose today at Everbright. Total cost (inclusive of labour):$320. Time in: 1045, time out:1500. I'm the 1st bike there so that I don't wait too long. But in the end, still the same, wait!

 

So far, my riding posture has been slightly straighten. Just a simple ride from Eunos back to pasir ris. Has yet to try long distance.

 

As for the brake hose, I've never changed to steel braided type on my previous bikes. Therefore, I do not know the feeling at all! I still find spongy. Like wat SG advised, maybe need to re-bleed the hose.

 

According to the shop owner, 3-5 more handle bars should not be a problem. Any quantity more than that, u'll have to wait for re-order. As for hose, he has no problem with stock.

It would be better for your B.I.L to join this thread...Diversion group.! even the white also a diversion right..!. We are around too.

Thats the reason why this bike is unique- unequalled with the rest of bikes out there..!

 

You can feel the presence of this bike

 

What all we want..!! at the end of the day, is a problem free bike...!

Hi OMD,

Not sure look for humps in the future can't go wrong, unless 'no humps' then it....will be very difficult to guess while he/she riding.?

A trip wrapup with the places we we went.

 

Trip started of at the Shell opp Tang Dynasty and when all were met we left for GP Petronas to topup. Time was almost 4am when we started on the way up.

 

Speed was comfortable as we took slightly more than an hour to reach Pagoh for our 1st RnR. Most were about to doze off and this was most welcome. The next stop was at Seremban and it was there that we catch the 1st light of dawn of a beautiful day ahead.

 

At Sungei Besi, we stopped to put on the cool shades as we were riding into the sun, towards Cheras. We then exited towards Genting Highlands and the long sweeping curves of the mountains were there for the enjoyment.

 

It was ard 9am that we reached Bentong town for breakfast. From there it was trunk roads up ahead. We left at 1030 as we snaked our way Bkt Fraser, hoping to make it up before 1145, through the tight and sharp twisties, occasionally avoiding the omcoming traffic who ventured into our lanes. Not suprisingly with SG leading the pack, we reached up in 30min.

 

FRom the lower gate, the GAP, we rode the last 8km before settling into the apartments for our deserved rest.

 

For the trip down that begun at 12noon, again SG and Haroze lead the pack down the mountains towards KKB for our lunch for some power Briyani/Chicken rice. This time weather was hot and this was the tone of the weather all the way back.

 

After that we headed towards Rawang and topped up along the way before joining onto the Elite highway. Journey was rather uneventful after that as it was 400km of roads ahead with stops again at Serembun/Pagoh.

 

Finally at ard 630 we reached GP where one group(fast >150) went back and the other(slow

 

Some stats u might wanna noe:

Total Distance: ~570miles.

Ave fuel consumption: 15km/l

Hi Guys,

As OMD was on leave for few weeks looking after the OMD jr, it will be a small break just to meet him for a drink...relieve him from some baby blue syndrome.. he,he,he..!

Took this opportunity to call Nasir N introduce him to OMD..!

 

Yesterday night as usual we meet for a short t.c session at Sembawang Drive BLK 406A tofu 24hrs coffee shop/mscp, those who turn-up was only OMD, Nasir N myself....Guess what? a non stop TCS.. They both start to pour out their passed riding experience...! TCS till 3am..you buggers can guess why talk till sooo late..? ans(OMD)!

I did not SMS all the buggers -just those nearby northern sector-I thought it would be a short owl brand coffee talk as Nasir need to wake up early for Cherating ride...with his regular group...!

 

If you guys are interested to meet up do SMS or put up in here...maybe have a chance to meet (jerry7007 B.I.L) another new handsome bugger to our *Singapore Diversion Group family...!

 

I think we can call ourselve>> Singapore Diversion Group(SDG)

 

As our passion was to tour as much as possible to discover new things, so the moto can be (Touring is Our Passion) only an idea!

 

We ever talk about this before but ...we were preoccupied with other ongoing things..!

SDR sounds nice but as for the motto "Touring is our Passion", we've reali gotta live up to it if we intend to put it down as our motto.

Hey guys my bike nearing 2 years..anyone thought of changing their batteries?

I intend to go down to HL to have it done, they're more professional and your bike will come out clean after servicing. Thought it'll cost a bit more but I personally feel tt its worth it.

SDR is okay with me thats the reason why I need you people to have a say!! ...!

"Touring is our passion" its more suitable as a moto - as we are riding tourers...

Living up to it ~ is how much passion you have...? to travel... I give you one good example Custom...make an effort to go even after he came back from a tiring business trip in a matter of minutes...what can I say or you say about it -Its a dedication/passion for Touring...

We all can live up to it, there are people putting an effort to recce before we go for a tour, jleo.

There are people taking their *precious leave to go for -tourings this are passions. (*actually kept for family vacations).

I have seen people say more then they do and people who do more then they say...!

 

I like those people, who do more then they say..! how about you???

About the t-shirts Oxygen was working on it, he was testing it for wear n tear and other quality matters but if there can be more guys it would be better!

 

You said, you can either ask/get your brother or friend to design something for us that would be nice of you...thank you!

 

You can tie down with oxygen about the t-shirts..materials and type of prints.

Hi casper4xxx,

Changing of battery is a very simple task, it is the same as changing of any battries just remember the battery model YTX 14-BS voltage and capacity 12V-12AH..and where is the (+) positive and (-) nagatives polarity is -anyone can replace the battery- no need a professsional to do that...

 

Unless you have other things to do maybe your valve clearance/adjustment carburattor tuning/balancing or some other complicated issuses then HL should be okay for paying them the extras with a piece of mind...!

 

Just for Info:- Batteries can last 2yrs++ to 3+ yrs...if there are no other extra fittings/modification on the electrics...with regular useage.

Yet to change the steel braided hoses cos I left the receipt in my office. Lazy to go back take as i was on leave the whole week.

 

Anyway as what Sun said, they still have plenty of stock. So most prob do it this coming week. How long they take to change it ar, presuming i go there 1st thing in the morning? i intend to go down on Thurs, 31 March. My HDB 1st appt is @ 2pm. Cannot be late!
