Hi Custom,

I thought that weekends can be the rest day for the kaki's after the long trip- If thats the case if no objection among our handsome buggers can I gladly- say add another day! instead of 8,9,10th....we start from 7th of July then.! 3nights 4days!!!!!

As 1day spending over there(Penang) is akind of rushing and nothing much can be done either- what do you think..! or is it too long?

Let us see how is the outcome and the number of handsome buggers turning up/coming get the opinion from them....:-)

I understand it is all about riding- but riding is not the whole thing! having fun, relax and enjoy the whole package! you know what I mean...! riding is part of the package!!

I hope others who were interested to go would agree! or you people having some kind of leave problems let it be 3dys 2nights...! For me anything goes!

Guys,

Just wanted to share with you guys a rather embarrasing incident that happened to me earlier today.

Was on the way to work, started bike like normal, noticed that fuel gauge was showing near empty, but the low fuel warning light still not on. So, no worries, have not hit the reserve bit of the tank yet (so I thought). FYI, mileage was showing about 210 miles already. What the heck, will fill up at the station near the work place.

Midway thru the ride, at Farrer Road, the bike just slowed down and stopped. F**k, tank was bone dry. Parked at the road side, flagged a taxi and head to the nearest petrol station. Got the metal tin, buy the fuel, took a taxi back and fill up the bike (which is tricky and messy).

Wish to highlight that the low fuel warning light did not come on until a few seconds before the engine dies off............very strange. Anyone had this happening to them before?

Total fuel tank capacity was nearly 22.5 litres (manual says 24 litres).

What an interesting encountered!! your fuel sensor floater is already or about to spoilt. This is a very common defect for divvy, like mine & many msn divvy had this problem. I have check with HL to change the floater but it will cost me hundred over dollars & i have to leave my bike there. Cos of inconvenience i would rather forgo the repair & just rely on the odometer & the guage.

Your moment of embarassement  also happened to me before cos of this same problem i was straded in the middle of the TPE. U are right OMD that d divvy actual total fuel tank capacity is only 22.5 litres (not what the manual says 24 litres). However, then i managed to clock 267 miles before the tank became bone dried. This obviously also showed your aggresiveness style of riding is, for the mileage u clocked before d bike came to a complete stopped.

When u start your bike, u can c d fuel warning light is lighted briefly, thus, it show d warning light is working. the culprit is the floater. In YDCN wedsite, someone actually DIY & rectifiefd d problem.

Sun

I have already transfered u d $$$. Thanks.

Hi OMD,

The Divvey Fuel tank total capacity is 24litre, that is true but the fuel-holding capacity is always lesser around 22+ litre.... How?

The shape of the fuel tank is such the way that: there is an air space in the top of the inner tank partialy contribute to the lost of fuel capacity as claimed. Where practicality clashes with shape and looks...:faint:

Hey,

Penang is definately a nice place to go if the intention is there. Ride up will take ard 8hrs (

The food there is worth the ride up alone, in gastronomical proportions. Food there is cheap n nice in Penang....

Ride up thru the bridge(3rd longest in the world) n perhaps return via the traditional ferry route. I stayed over there on my way down from Koh Samui n managed to find a hotel with a secure parking premsis for ard RM20/pax for 4.

Like wat Euro mentioned, since you're there might consider riding another 2 hours to reach Hatyai. If not on the way down hit the Grik route or do a Cameron via Simpang Pulai.

As for my trip up, lemme post up some pics when i get them all...

As for now, a pic of the Penang bridge..

It is in miles...

267miles uses 22.5L

FC= 11.87miles/liters or 18.99 km/l

That's is very good for divvy.

Maybe my body weight it can only give me abt 15-17km/l

With oil prices increase every where in the world, better go in diet now :weep:
