On the topics of tyres, the recommanded tyre presure from manual is

Up to 90kg

---------------

Front--225kPa

Rear-- 250kPa

Greater than 90kg or high speed riding

---------------------------------------------

Front--250kPa

Rear-- 290kPa

These are relatively large figures, how much do u guys inflate to???

After reading this i put mine at 235 front n 270 rear(assumption of 50% with pillion)

Strange thing is that after i went HL for my 3000km servicing, the mechanic check the tyre pressures n retorted that they were over-inflated n re-adjusated to a lower pressure(how much i dunno)...

I also pondered over this when i 1st saw the brochure @ HL which stated 18inch rears but the one on display had 17inch.... I believe its a typo as the 18inch tyres are only used in the 600 model.....

Anyway id the Divvy were using an 18inch tyre, i would not have bought it as finding resonably priced replacements is not easy n must order then wait somemore..... :nono: :nono:

Tyres brand is Dunlop...... Front is 120/70-17 58V while rear is 150/70-17 69V....

Cheers

Ok, thanks jleo. Found the Dunlop website with it's great Fitment/Pressure Guide. Very interesting. Give it a try if you guys have the time. ;)

Yo Kevin,

The handlebar Raiser dun seems so easy to install ley, lots of the cable seems like too short like that.

Sign...Think I'm to take some to figure out liao...

[/b]

Friend...I have the same problem too...you have to adjust the electrical wire here and there and also the fwd brake hoses clamp need to removed too. You can try doing if really cannot then need to consult Kelvin liao.

You become successful the moment you start moving toward a worthwhile goal.

I just completed installing today liao, by cutting away all the cable tie, adjust brake hose clamp...

Went for a ride, with it; So how to I describe this handlebar raiser...??? One Word....SHIOK!!!

Yo haroze,

The Genmar Handlebar raiser are meant for this Diversion such that u need not change the wiring.

THus far riding with the handlebar raiser; gives me a feeling that I'm riding on a ST11...heh...

Straight ...no more numbness in hands, no more aching shoulders on long distance ride.....heh...

But with the Handlebar raiser, and u still want to look sporty while riding..all i need to do is put seat a little back a bit, and U will lean like before without the raiser.

Oxygen, how is it going? HAve u fix up your spot light? need me to guide u or not?

I just found out the difference between a Fog light and Spot light;

Fog light is diffuse in lighting; whereas spot light is focus and shoot further.

No wonder my light doesn't seems to shine very far...

If U want to travel in NSH...Spot light is better...

Hey, thanks for the info, brader. Never really thought about tyre sizes until I went through Bridgestone & Dunlop websites to find an 18" tyre. Almost non-existence. Now I know that tyre size must be put on check list when buying a new motorcycle. :shades:

Another question here. Is it possible to have the TP crash bars as well as Skidmarx lower fairings at the same time? I was comparing the TP crash bars & Skidmarx lower fairings. I'm sure they will not get in the way of each other. Looking at the TP crash bars closely, you'll notice that they are positioned slightly forward. In fact they are not beside the exhaust but in front of it. What do you guys think? Is it possible or some modifications may be necessary?

Thanks! ;)

TP crash bars (Yamaha Diversion Club Nederland)

Skidmarx lower fairings (MrBoliao's Diversion)

BTW, did you notice that the Singapore Traffic Police & Polish Traffic Police have similar modified Diversions? Crash bars, head fairing, small top case & bracket. Not to mention the light that's mounted on the right side of the small top case. Hey, the helmets too!

Now I'm looking for a tank bra; but those 1/2 tank type. Anyone know what are the models?

I know bagster are the full tank; but bagster don't have those 1/2 tank type.

Trip to Mersing-

This is my long awaited opportunity to test out the handlebar raiser.

- Distance to Mersing :- about 100 miles.

- Terrain :- Tricky, lots of turnings, Left, right, Uphill, downhill. Road is 2 way.

- Skill required :- terrain considered dangerous, cos some turnings comes instantly after you clear a hill. So it can cause u by surprise. And since the road is two way, it is more dangerous as anything may cross into your path.

- Average Speed - 100 - 120 km/hr

- Time taken to arrive there - 1 hr 45 mins.

On a whole, the Divvy 900 with my pillion has no problem negotiating the curves. The fact that this was my first time there and I did not expect so many curves and hills. And being unfamiliar with the terrain , I decided to keep slow. Thus I was the last person to keep with the group ( who comprises of a Blackbird, a fazer1000, Suzuki GSXR1000, Handfuls of Super 4s. A BMW R1150..

Sad to say, on the trip back, I told the Team Leader; "If u can't see me, u fellas just go ahead...I'll take my time back" I really felt that those guys are negotiating the curves at too high a speed. I really believe that my Divvy 900 is meant to be a Tourer and not a Racing demon to "Play Corners"

True enough, near to Kota Tinggi, I was way far behind them, As I approach a curve, I saw one of the biker standing there and waving me to slow down. I slowed and and saw all the bikes parking at the sides. I saw a car, smash up in front, Engine curve inwards and the Windscreen totally smahed up.

I also saw the Blackbird lying as a pile of junk metal.

The teamleader had negoiated this curve at too high a speed, and this speed has caused him to cross over to the next lane and thus crashed headon with the on-coming car.

Thank goodness that he is on Full Racing Gear, lying on the road, he was still conscious , 2 broken arms, serious internal injury to the lung and broken ribs. (last I heard)

GUYS! next time when U think of getting a few minutes of trills.... THink of the consequences and the social responsibilities you held.

When I talk to him at the Kota Tinggi Hospital, he says that he is worry about his job.

And True enough, for any of us, We need not get into serious injuries like been paralysed to lose our jobs, just losing a Thumb can cause u not to be able to write or to do any Technical jobs!

Think of your families, parents who depends on you to support!

Should there be any serious injuries, regret is for life!

While the so call "team leader" i felt he really deserved it, there is no need for any sympathy or empathy for him at all. You should have scolded him for his restless & immature behaviour. I felt this should be your last time u ride with this group of MONKEYS whom had try to dig their owe graveyard.........there is no need to elaborate anymore.

Glad to know that both of u have installed your risers, no regret isn't it. Very comfortable riding posture. While i did not encounter any clutch problem, yet to give way. It is definitely a good idea to buy a spare cable in case of emergency.

BTW, my original tyres last me 27332 miles. Simply amazing.

The front is Dunlop GT501 120/70/17, $102

The rear is GT501 150/70/17, $112

Both are H rated tyres from Mah Motor Agencies, coz felt there is no need to install V or Z rated.

Not including $30 labour charge & GST.

So far so good, no complain.
