Hiya all,

Just placed the order for my new Diversion 900........Hoorraayyy!!!!

Now I need some tips from fellow Diversion riders on mounting a top box on the bike. Anyone care to share their experience? Where and what kind of brackets were used?

Counting the days now..........

Hey, congrats! :clapping: Where did you purchase the bike from & what is the OTR price?

About the brackets for the top case, Chiap Lee quoted me S$160 for it. Original Givi top case brackets for the XJ900S (monorack arm model 331F). It has to be specially ordered though. Check with Chiap Lee for more info.

Good Luck! ;)

Was thinking of getting the dark blue one, but the silver one was eventually chosen. Bikes seems to look bigger when they are in bright colours, plus I am not a bike washing person, so the silver one won't look so bad. :-)

What do the rest of the Diversion riders think? Blue or Silver?

If I got a choice again, I'll pick silver lor...

Good for u to get this bike...Rugged machine, just came back from a Thailand trip.

Pack in my luggage, pillion, can still do a speed up to 170 km/h... didn't dare to go further, scared my plastic screw on my Shield breaks...Solid 10 hrs ride up... and solid 10 hrs ride down...pain in the ass.

But average speed about 140-160 km/hr , the divvy still handles very well.

Anyway if u guys wants to change the plastic screws to teh metal ones...go to the hardware shops on the lane parallel to LAB, They sells all kinds of screws under planet earth.

This bike is as rigged as a tank...

Went oversea for 4 months w/o disconnectng the battery, upon rtn, the bike just startup in a few second.

Now I've to go HL for checking y sometime my engine oil leak.....

As for the rack, maybe you can try custom made by SengKwng to your preferance. At least it won't rust overtime.

My is from SengKwang with a Maxis on it.

Leak??? What kind of leak are you talking about? BTW, how long have you had your Diversion?

For the bracket, how much did you have to pay for it? Did it take long to have it fabricated?

Just replaced my Front pads, onli covered 6000 miles. Found out that the Left pair (looking from the seat) is the one wearing to the bone. The right ones still got 40 % left. The Back brake pad, probably 80%.... Guess I'm a guy who use the front brakes more than the rear brakes.

I believe the Left brake worn out faster, is becos the brake pressure when applied, goes to teh Left brake pad first before it distributes to the Right brake.

Thank goodness I touch down Singapore from Thailand, before I start hearing the whinning sound when the bike moves; I guess the front brake pad is goner and so i start using the rear brake only.

Anyway , I got those isumi "Make in Japan" type from LAB $12/pair...dun know can last or not... will tell u guys later..

My original brake pads last abt 17000miles, the org. pad made in Japan is very expensive. $55 per set. not incl labour chrg. They aslo sell org. pad but made locally for at least half the price. I also encountered the calipers jammed on front left 7 mths ago. The mechanic at Mah Motor Agencies stripped & serviced it, eventually fitted with after market brand, "SBS" gold for $28 X 2.

OMD,

Just a new owner. 6 month only .... 4 months away but mileage now hit about 3K miles.

Very strange oil leak sign near to the spark plug. Engine cool sometime leak, engine hot no more leak.

Palary,

U r not alone...

I uses front only and till now, I only use rear for slope stopage... :D

My front tyre always hve to change every yr but not my rear(ave 2.5yrs).

Tink better check my front pad also... now a bit of noise liao.

Still can claim warranty.

Beware that the warranty is 5000km and not 1 yr.

Going to Malacca today to have a feel of "wind".... :p

Shit.... being travelling in below 50kph for tooo long.... Dammn China traffic.

:pity:

Thanx for sharing. Maybe the leak could be from a spark plug that is not properly homed in. Let the folks from HL sort it out.

You mentioned about warranty, in Singapore's context, the warranty means nothing. Unlike in other countries, where they would not hesitate to change parts of your bike or even the whole bike if it is not working properly ( manufacturer's fault that is ). In Singapore, for example, if you complain about a warped brake disc, the agent would blame you for improper braking method ( what they mean actually is, it is your fault, not theirs ). So I would like to see the outcome of yur brake noise problem with HL.

In the meantime, waiting eagerly for my new Diversion. Hope to meet all the Diversion riders one of these days.

Since Custom is back, we can organise another kopi session; BTW OMD, when are u collecting your Bike?

If I recall correctly the bracket at Seng Kwang cost $180. That guys says can hold up to 50 kg. Never tried that weight, but it does look solid enough.

Hi,

Saw a Diversion with plate FS11X8P just now at Sembawang's Sun Plaza. Anyone here owns the bike? It was a beauty. I was admiring your bike for quite a while, in fact, hoping for the owner to come by and maybe have a chat. Unfortunately when I came back 5 mins later, the bike was gone. It was quite nice how the ERP unit was positioned in the middle of the handle bars, but does it interfere with the meters or ignition?

On the subject of ERP unit, can the riders here share where is the best position to have the unit installed without obstructing the meters or ignition? Also, it seems that nobody here is using the Givi bracket for the top box. The bike I saw earlier has the Soon Kwang bracket installed.

Hope to hear more from the rest of the Diversion owners.

Hi,

I am all for the gathering. It would be a good start for all the Diversion riders and well as other bikers to learn and discovery about Diversion ( you'll be surprised at the number of ppl who don't know about Diversion ). Location can be anywhere, I believe there is not much place that allows the bikes to be park in front of where we are siting, so we are limited in that sense. As for the dates are concerned, I am a working person ( no exams ), but I do work on shifts.
