Guys, just like to check, is the Diversion 900 really out of production liao? I have been out of the woods too long to catch the news.

Its a shame if the production line stops for this bike...

hi sotong,

It is very true that, last year Dec 2003 it had ceased production. There might be something under Yamaha sleeves just need to be patient...even thou this diversion is not a best seller like other models in local, it was a steady seller...thru out Europe.

10 years in production line...no complain...!!! something hard to see on other bikes...!

I hope Yamaha will produce all the qualities of this low maintenance sport tourer bike on aluminium frame, shaft drive, center stand, a simple air cool engine with carburater and not fuel injection, improve on design looks and side panniers...to accomadate a full size helmet...o_O

Frankly, I ride for practical reason.

As for me, if the Bike serve my purpose, then I keep it till doomsday...

Anyway most of the Bikes I rode, I actually rode till they expired.

Changing bikes for no apparent reason is a waste of $$$ to me...personal opinion hor...

But once this Divvy Bike expired, probably I'll look for something that can handle multiple terrain and a tourer, maybe a V-storm 650..? Cos I realised that I don't need the speed of a >900cc bike..

i will probably go for a fjr with abs in 1 or 2 years time unless a new revamp divvy is released, hate the feeling of being blasted by sportbike when the lights turned green. but i doesn't means i wanted to race. used to rode a vmax & never had any sportbike dare to blast at me. abs cos better stopping power unlike our xj has poor brake. gentleman what do you think our bike will fetch $$$ after ridden 5 or 6 yrs? i bought mine for $17,300 in year 2000 without side panniers, then HL dont even know divvy has the optional panniers. i have to look for yamaha euro for the panniers code number for them.

cheers

Well...I share the same opinion with Palary too. You know it is very hard not to agree with Palary some time...fact is fact right ??? Still stay on with Diversion.

Hiya guys,

Taking a break from the monotony that is exams... Looking forward to the end of exams n school so can go 4 touring up north.

Anyway on the topic of bike after the Divvy, i'd also like to try a FJR1300ABS cos of the reviews i'm gettin from the owners. A bike worthy of consideration by any touring lover. Maintainence is similar but the petrol consumption is alittle more. However OTR price difference is almost 10K for a brand new one n so is the insurance. Worth it? U decide after trying one.

Also the bike speed capabilities is wasted on me cos i seldom go past 140 even on NSH. Fav cruising speed is ard 120-130... Go on trips tio suan for being slow cos the S4 n 400cc sport bikes zoom pass me. Only 24 but have the riding habits of an 'uncle' hahahah :cheeky:

Tts y i chose this bike eventually...

Till then, cheers everyone.

Hi guys,

I do have a consideration for FJR13 now $28,000 OTR, after I really sian with mine maybe give & take 5years...I want to hold on to this bike as long as possible as I say my longest is the ST, three and a half...most of other bikes on the 3rd years goes in as a downpayment...for a new bike...

I must take palary advised hold till it expires, I will try my best but it always itches after the 2year... must go and practice YOGA self descipline...o_O

I think u are suffering from a 'Itch Compulsion' syndrome...HAHA

The compulsion to upgrade and change....In the past , I suffered from this also; but on the smaller scale...I always upgrade my computer and the parts inside....Hoping to get the latest and the fastest technology; spending $$$ just to get the satisfaction that my computer is up to date...But ultimately realised that I only used it to type and surf the Net.. :bounce: :bounce:

Not only that; I also hunt for the latest gadgets in the market...but realised all is a waste of $$$...Cos I don't use them most of the time...

There is a never ending chase for better things like bikes , gadgets, handphones, ....and the chase is both draining to time, energy and $$$...

As the saying goes..... Power is nothing without control.

I used to modify e engine of LC125 & RXK during young.

Alway feel the need for speed and power so that can reach e finish line ahead of others.

Had tried a top speed of 280km/h in bike and about 240 km/h in car.

The question is so what?

We don ride that way and will not ride that way in daily basis.

If we want to speed, do it in the race track. Join the racing team.

We can't deline that we have a devil in us and once in a while it appear in front of us and just disappear. Aftermath, at time I was thinking what the hell am I doing...

A recent case what a group of Malaysia's bikes zoom pass me. Somehow my devil appear and blast them off till they giveup chasing me. After that, I begain to wonder why I did that. My gf may get hurt and this is something that I don't want it to happen.:nono:

fortunately, the feq of my devil lesser as I aged. Till now, to a certain extend I can control it but.... there is always expectation....:cheeky:

We're riding a machine that can take on any 400cc bikes at the turn of our throttle so beware that it can be a killing machine as well if uncontrol.

So... always remember... to control ur temptation.

On the move; it saves lifes and

in our life, saves us money, time etc......

:bounce: :bounce:

Ok... now I talk like Ahpek:cheeky:

Finally got my front brake pads changed to SBS model:663-SQ, after 5000miles which inc a trip up Fraser Hill, the ISUMI pad still looks NEW..

I understand that ISUMI is a jap brand, but i guess mine was an OEM product, made in Taiwan.

With close inspection realised that the only thing that was wearing out were my rotors. THere were alot of little radial grooves(but noticable) on the discs, condition comparable to years of braking on it.

My advice, keep away from this brand. Have to see how this set performs.

Cheers.
