hi all, apologise for interrupting this thread. hope u guys can accomodate a few qns here.

1) mayb someone can elaborate on this cloth cap thing? a bit confused.

2) realised u guys toking abt 18" rims, so which yr onwards are XJs running on 17" rims?

3) realised no one complained abt hot engines from XJs, even when wearing shorts, tats surprising cos i had this impression tat all / most tua gus face this prob.

4) OMD mentioned abt gear oil on pg 51, so does XJs haf a diff requirement in "gear oil" other than engine oil

5) and lastly, sad tat XJs are no longer in production. but nevertheless, hope to at least noe more abt this machine. the prob is i haf a hard time searching for spec sheets / black and white info on XJs be it online or other medium. can some one throw in a few links or sumtink lidat? thanks a million.

I am oso running ard on a yamaha XJ.. but a diff XJ  , but this XJ900 is really getting my attention

if anyone is interested, there's a FW plated XJ900 for sale at bukit merah. can't remember the shop name. asking for 14.8K and the mileage on the bike is about 11K plus miles. condition looks alright to me. it's dark blue in colour. think the plate is 8865.

good luck

Helo FurbyKong...actually the proper name is BANDENA (according to bro silverghost). It's made of cloth and u wear it prior to putting on ya full-faced helmet. Benefits :

1) Reduces pressure on ya ears esp for long-distance rides. Still hurts a bit but at least better than nothing.

2) easier to put on and take off the full-faced helmet.

3) keep ya hair in place

4) keep the helmet's padding clean and free from ya sweat smell.

Ps : But think i kena chopped. Bought @ S$22.00 but my malay neighbour riding a V-strom bought the same thing for only S$12.00 from the same shop! :nono:

Hiya,

Just to set the records right, the proper name for it is Helmet Liner. Bandana is a kind of large sized hankerchief used by ppl to tie around their head, like the heavy metal musicians or the Hell Angels riders.

Guys,

I think it is unfair to just arrow Jleo as the leader. A more appropriate term would be Convenor. Everyone is equal in the group, depending on the areas of expertise, some can be leaders in their on right. Example would be a day trip, maybe I might have experience travelling a particular route, then I can be considered the group leader for the day or trip. Likewise, Haroze is an expert when it comes to MotoGP and Sepang, hence, he is the leader in that sense.

Happy??? Any violent objections???

Hello guyz...

Sorry, sorry no leaders hear.....alrighty..! Everybody can be one...!:bouncefire: Oh yes talking about Sepang , I'm going there to watch Motogp on 08/10/2004 on Friday. On that day itself, there will be some practices and qualifying session. It will start from 0900hrs to 1700hrs. The best thing is that it is a free entry....yes no charges....0$0.00/------.Payable is only on Saturday and Sunday @ @S$25/-...net..!:thumb: It will be a great fun for those who had never seen and hear the true motorcycle engine direct from factory...! My plans are as follws:-

1:0700hrs...meet-up at ahmad ibrahim shell,

2:0715hrs...leave for gp patronas station,

3:0730hrs...ride up to sepang.

My idea is that we will watch the whole session..(breakfast and lunch will be at the grandstand) till by 1800hrs we'll leave for Singapore. This will be a day ride but full of surprises.Oh yes...the free entry is at the main grandstand and a free sitting. So guys i'm looking forward of the divvy brothers respond.OMD, don't worry,Ramadan is just round the corner after sepang date.Hope you can make it..I'm looking foward on this...!:bounce:
