Thanks for organising this trip.

To me any safe trip is a good trip.

Weather wise was an experience not many have been through...

Surprisingly my $150 amoured touring jacket is still waterproof after 6 hrs of continuos rain.

Aplogise to casio for that sudden turn into his lane at one of the tolls. me bad on that.

Have a goodtime cleaning up ur bikes and until next time, ride safe and be well.

Hi all,

being a luggage is never for free... or isit becos of wide surface area that's explained y it is so easily aimed at... anyway it is my honour to help out in a way to all the hamsome buggers here...:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

my apology for the late report... bro jleo had finished most part of the report within one hr span of time upon touching his home . Its bb moving slowly at her pace to finalised the remaining portion.. As usual, credits to bro jleo .....here we goes....

Report on Genting trip on 080105 :

How true Beebee's statement was.

The weather worked against us the entire day. Before the time we met it had begun to drizzle with increasing intensity. As we rode up the NSH, the weather turned worse and by the time we reached Pagoh for the 1st stop, most of us were wet despite the raincoat n hands wrinkled and cold from the rain.

After the Sungei Besi toll, there was a small miscommunication and Comics00 + Custom went on their own to 'explore more of KL b4 meetin us up in Genting'.. For the other 5 we went via the Cheras direction for the direct route up.

On the way up to the peak, there was no let up as the fog had already set it. For many, this was a new experience riding thru the clouds with about 20m visibility at best. The weather up there was really cooling(more like cold...burrr!!) and clouds made the roads, esp in the carpark, wet n slippery so no one really played the corners.

By coincidence, the 2 groups mananged to meetup at the carpark at around the same time after which we proceeded for a deserved lunch at the First World Hotel foodcourt. It was then where the bunch started to interact and the combination of Custom and Comics00 were supplying the jokes and laughters. (that’s’ when the carrot head cum 7meals a day person was born :p)

After lunch we splitted up for OTOT as O2 went to get his rooms. Comis00 for sky diving simulator + hittin on the Russian chicks while the rest waited 4 him(tok abt being buey steady).

Even through clouds getting thicker, colder and (adding pepper n salt to the situation) rain, it never stopped us from heading home with 2 panniers full of CA$H. (oops, it should be 2 panniers full of enjoyment, laughter and friendships to be exact) even on the expense of having to wear the full gear plus rain coats again (-_-“).

How the rain never seem to stop falling, got a time when it stopped but as soon as we took it off n proceed, rain again(Murphy’s law in action).

Solo headed straight for his pillow while the rest settled dinner at GP town (10pm) , Chua Kee Chinese food. It was cheap and good or was it we were too hungry? (if my memory didn’t fail me, last food intake was at 1130am) , exchanged more jokes with Comics n Custom once again suppling the laughters… Once we loaded ourselves, we were raring to go. Home Sweet Home…

It was definitely a great trip.

Total dist 483miles

what a great trip it was.. for those who did not make it, you have definitely missed a great trip. it's not just about ride as most agreed but it was the friendship and bonding too. even my gf, who had brought along her 101% courage and will withstood whatever that's thrown into our way. she actually bought me lunch because she made it up and down to genting all in a day.

kudos to jleo & bee bee for the good organization skills. kudos to custom for leading the pack in the pitch dark hours up the highway. it's never easy! those lights really came in handy. thanks to all others yappiez, cosmic, o2 and solo for the great company.

yappiez, no worries on that little incident.

i'm definitely looking forward to the next trip to frasers. till then, rest well and when is the next meet up? :cheer: :cheer:

For work reasons, i might not be able to take leave on that sat... All cancelled due to the after CNY production startup. In fact sun also likely need to work.

Better let me announce it properly so no misunderstanding... So sorry!!! ... :sorry: :sorry:

In return, allow me to perhaps suggest an alternative.. On another day of course...

Pengaran for lobsters?? My friend keeps ranting abt it that i wanna give it a try.

Since its short we will do a NSH rd ride up to Tasik Chini n ride down via route 5 to past Sg Rengit to Pengaran for the final stop.

I will see when the critical window period is over, then i will reconfirm that date again...

Nolan Flipped Up Helmet - $270 (useing everyday)

7 mths old. Leaks water from front top visor area, noise - moderate

Leather Gloves with kelvar protection - $50 (using everyday)

No brand. from a Mr Gan from AT-Asia forum. Not waterproof. Now it stinks...

Frux Jacket - $150 (ocassional local used and for touring)

7 mths old. Waterproof touring jacket with elbow, shoulder and back armour. 6 hours in the rain and my t-shirt inside is still dry. :thumb:

Bought from the same guy, Mr Gan

Has not washed since purchased... lol

Gotex Army Boots - ?

Totally wasted. Became a container to collect water when we reached KL.

No brand rainpants - ?

More than 5 years old. Leaks at crotch area.. lol

Metz 6 (front) vs Metz 4 (rear)

While chasing Jleo on the way up to Genting, I went onto a dark patch on the road, front went through smoothly but rear slided... I had to kick down with my foot to right myself before i kissed the wet and cold tarmac... i think my balls are still up there.....

My conclusion is Z6 is better than Z4 in wet condition.. without considering all other factors....

I was largely dry except the arms portion. Had i put on the $35 waterproof fireman raincoat, would have been completely dry. The windscreen did its job as wat i would expect but the little wind at the sides brought with it enuf rain to make the arm portion of the wire mesh riding jacket wet.

The SAF army boots(old type) did its job rather well but alittle water seeped into it eventually when puddles splashed onto the jeans. Wat to expect from a 5yr+ boots..

My HJC FF did its job pretty well, keeping out the excessive wind noise but it let me down in the part when it fogged up when the weather got really cold. Esp so on the way up Genting where i had to lift up the visor so i could negotiate the corners properly.

As for the gloves, same as Yappiez, stinko sia. Should have brought along my other pair.

Also its worth noting that the BT020 i slapped on were worth its $$. No issues negotiating the slopes up/down even when wet. Thanks 2 Euro for the recommendations.

One more thing... Meetup is at 4pm at Motoworld for those who are interested...

Cheers n see u all on sat.

me on the other hand was rather happy with my jacket. it's a goretex dainese. water went in a little from the neck part because it was hot for a moment!!! other than that, i'm very happy with it. ask the guys when we stopped at pagoh.

as for my glove, it used to be a waterproof pair until i got crazy and cut out the waterproof lining. i was cursing myself for what i did because my hand was freezing cold :slapforehead:

my boots would be the best of the night.. feet completely dry, it's neither goretex or a riding boot. it's a safety boot that has the waterproof material on with steel cap at the toes. really very good for wet weather. :cheer: :cheer:

rain pants... pro grip brand. no leak yet as it's only less than a year old.

happy with my tires like Jles too.. it's a bridgestone 020 front and rear. no problems.

most of all, i'm glad that i got the windshield up day before the trip departure. really helped me a lot. i can now cruise at a comfortable speed of 120km/h... :lovestruck:

No Fog built up during the 5 hrs

using ear plugs to keep the noise out

Rjays touring jacket.

rainmate rain pants

works fine.

progrip rain shoes

water slip in from the top

iz-2 gloves

i bought the non-leather version so it doesn't stink and dry quicker. confirm wet but still comfy.
