Ans 1) Bro if i not wrong, yr 02 model dun hv CBS, only ABS nia. If i not wrong ABS-CBS came on 06 model onwards. Anyway CBS is controlled by the ECU on 60% frt/40%rear. If u brake more on rear, ECU will cut in the remaining % @ frt.

Brake hose if u got spare $, go ahead becos the price is extorting though it works beta than stock.

Separate the CBS-ABS system if u can identify where is the fuse for the CBS.

Change brake/clutch pump, it depend how the previous owner took care of it. Izzit flush annually? Or let the mechanic took it out to service the spring, O-rings etc will be beta

Mine is non ABS but CBS.

Maybe getting hoses online, but not sure is worth the upgrade. maybe try bleeding them at first. Thanx for the tip.

Have to correct you here. The Combined Braking System (CBS) is not controlled by the ECU. It is controlled by a system of hydraulic hoses and brake pumps and a proportioning valve. There is a secondary brake pump on the left front caliper that activates one circuit to one piston of the rear caliper when the front brake lever is applied. See the schematic attached.

Non-abs VFR hoses set up was quoted in the region of $600-$700 by Unique & Motoworld. Its definitely cheaper than online prices which is mostly higher than the local prices even w/o labour charges. IMO, if you dont mind the cost, then it is definitely worth the $ to replace them with steel braided lines.

Do you guys encounter smoke coming from exhaust this few cold days during idling? Normal?
