i din mean it that way. for the record, im grateful that u r willing to want to contact the guys.

No la, we not trying to anti-anything. juz intended to support hope for hair, while maybe carry banner stating "Safety and Fairness For ALL Road Users".

Not about asking for re-verdict or anything, juz wanna create awareness ofsafety and fairness.

But ya, ppl ish busy, so not easy to coordinate.

i noe u going, but if only 3 of us, we go down there and shout ah? ltr ppl think we siao gin nah..

was thinking if 200 of us contribute somehow, through vit m, or volunteer shavee, or go down physical support, at least still something. We say wanna do the banner, also not done ma, u ish getch wat i mean? cannot be go down do hand signal ma?

perhaps we could have better coordination ba.

I have a feeling that by the time my baby is out and walking also the thing won't happen....

A flawed system that has made a "last minute" mistake, plus an extremely lenient penalty -- is the system making drivers more complacent road commuters? Also, added to the fact that most of them themselves think car insurance and the ability to make damage claims are sorry excuses to be bolder on the road?

I've read the posts on motorcycling safety and thank the efforts of all bikers who try to make our safety a priority.

However am i the only one who thinks this is all for nothing when the law does not protect motorcylists? I am referring to the infamous sin min editor who had her sentence reduced to 1 day's jail for killing a pillion rider and permanently maiming the rider. what kind of a message does that send out? that our lives are not worth protecting? if i did not read incorrectly it also does not mention if her 10 year ban from driving was upheld. so does this mean she's free to drive again? and is SPH still employing her, a dangerous and reckless driver?

I would like to write in to the media with some support from bikers here, for those who have lost friends and relatives to drivers like this and also to highlight the injustice in this case.i am sick and tired of being at the mercy of these road killers. kindly attached your names below. thank you.

A flawed system that has made a "last minute" mistake, plus an extremely lenient penalty -- is the system making drivers more complacent road commuters? Also, added to the fact that most of them themselves think car insurance and the ability to make damage claims are sorry excuses to be bolder on the road?

I've read the posts on motorcycling safety and thank the efforts of all bikers who try to make our safety a priority.

However am i the only one who thinks this is all for nothing when the law does not protect motorcylists? I am referring to the infamous sin min editor who had her sentence reduced to 1 day's jail for killing a pillion rider and permanently maiming the rider. what kind of a message does that send out? that our lives are not worth protecting? if i did not read incorrectly it also does not mention if her 10 year ban from driving was upheld. so does this mean she's free to drive again? and is SPH still employing her, a dangerous and reckless driver?

I would like to write in to the media with some support from bikers here, for those who have lost friends and relatives to drivers like this and also to highlight the injustice in this case.i am sick and tired of being at the mercy of these road killers. kindly attached your names below. thank you.

something to share, In the spring of 2008, Sons of Maxwell were traveling to Nebraska for a one-week tour and his Taylor guitar was witnessed being thrown by United Airlines baggage handlers in Chicago. He discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnâ€™t deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people he communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. So he promised the last person to finally say â€œnoâ€ to compensation (Ms. Irlweg) that he would write and produce three songs about his experience with United Airlines and make videos for each to be viewed online by anyone in the world.

Now he got the United attention, United Air wanna to compensate him but he rejected, he asked United to donate the money away. The hits in 3 weeks have reached over 4millions viewership.

Just wondering if you guys know the full details of the case. I do not. Question is it entirely the fault of the driver? If u ride a bike and bang people(due to what ever reason) u injured/die, u still wanna to blame the other Party?

Bro ... Maybe u dun understand why suchs things we are duin here. we all feel..what if "the person that die can be one of our love ones... Or the the rider that was disable was our dad" or the least is " we as a rider are open to all danger and worse we are at the mercy of any DRIVER negligence"

i feel for the person whose father was left paralyse and the death of the VICTIM.. and i noe him well. AND YES HE IS IN THIS FORUM....reading this and i bet, even thou the verdict is out months already, NO DOUBT nothing can be done to change it.. BUT HE SURE APPRECIATE what we are trying to say / DO in public in the NAME of SAFETY FOR MOTORIST.,

As for the LUCKY editor... we will wait till the day when sua sua someone "accidentally" who might knock any of ur family down till pernmanent disable or even result in death, and escape with 1day jail. and we would like to her on HOW u gona feel. *dun forget the world is round. What goes round will come around!!"

For us...we shall take this for example.. so next time if we drive or ride and HIT someone and jail jialt jialat... we all can say "If the SIN MING EDITOR can get 1 day jail for it.. WHy can't i?" A flawed system that has made a "last minute" mistake, plus an extremely lenient penalty -- is the system making drivers more complacent road commuters? Also, added to the fact that most of them themselves think car insurance and the ability to make damage claims are sorry excuses to be bolder on the road?

I've read the posts on motorcycling safety and thank the efforts of all bikers who try to make our safety a priority.

However am i the only one who thinks this is all for nothing when the law does not protect motorcylists? I am referring to the infamous sin min editor who had her sentence reduced to 1 day's jail for killing a pillion rider and permanently maiming the rider. what kind of a message does that send out? that our lives are not worth protecting? if i did not read incorrectly it also does not mention if her 10 year ban from driving was upheld. so does this mean she's free to drive again? and is SPH still employing her, a dangerous and reckless driver?

I would like to write in to the media with some support from bikers here, for those who have lost friends and relatives to drivers like this and also to highlight the injustice in this case.i am sick and tired of being at the mercy of these road killers. kindly attached your names below. thank you.

A flawed system that has made a "last minute" mistake, plus an extremely lenient penalty -- is the system making drivers more complacent road commuters? Also, added to the fact that most of them themselves think car insurance and the ability to make damage claims are sorry excuses to be bolder on the road?

I've read the posts on motorcycling safety and thank the efforts of all bikers who try to make our safety a priority.

However am i the only one who thinks this is all for nothing when the law does not protect motorcylists? I am referring to the infamous sin min editor who had her sentence reduced to 1 day's jail for killing a pillion rider and permanently maiming the rider. what kind of a message does that send out? that our lives are not worth protecting? if i did not read incorrectly it also does not mention if her 10 year ban from driving was upheld. so does this mean she's free to drive again? and is SPH still employing her, a dangerous and reckless driver?

I would like to write in to the media with some support from bikers here, for those who have lost friends and relatives to drivers like this and also to highlight the injustice in this case.i am sick and tired of being at the mercy of these road killers. kindly attached your names below. thank you.

Then again, two things or more can happen to you.

You can eithier be sued till your pants drop...that is if your pants is worth that much ( which I doubt) or be placed in some 'four walled' facility for comtempt of the Court or whichever.

But then again, as I have noticed thru the years,particularly for bikers, which also is likely to equate to the 'type of life' they have ( I said , 'likely' so not ALL hor!)...that they are eithier young or don't have much to lose in any way if they go in the wrong direction in life.

That much having said or rather posted, you can carry on quietly with your name gathering ( which is fine ) as long ,as it REMAINS, as just a name gathering excercise for your own pleasure.

A flawed system that has made a "last minute" mistake, plus an extremely lenient penalty -- is the system making drivers more complacent road commuters? Also, added to the fact that most of them themselves think car insurance and the ability to make damage claims are sorry excuses to be bolder on the road?

I've read the posts on motorcycling safety and thank the efforts of all bikers who try to make our safety a priority.

However am i the only one who thinks this is all for nothing when the law does not protect motorcylists? I am referring to the infamous sin min editor who had her sentence reduced to 1 day's jail for killing a pillion rider and permanently maiming the rider. what kind of a message does that send out? that our lives are not worth protecting? if i did not read incorrectly it also does not mention if her 10 year ban from driving was upheld. so does this mean she's free to drive again? and is SPH still employing her, a dangerous and reckless driver?

Ppl like you...just can't 'get it'

As I have said, the issue is closed.

You can interpret this judgement in any way you fancy...as long as you don't try to say that it was wrong and the Courts was wrong and go about in a public way with it.

Of course, no one is stopping you, afterall, who is stopping you, if you inisist on passing scandalous remarks on the Eidtor or say the Court was 'kangaroo'.

Then again, two things or more can happen to you.

You can eithier be sued till your pants drop...that is if your pants is worth that much ( which I doubt) or be placed in some 'four walled' facility for comtempt of the Court or whichever.

But then again, as I have noticed thru the years,particularly for bikers, which also is likely to equate to the 'type of life' they have ( I said , 'likely' so not ALL hor!)...that they are eithier young or don't have much to lose in any way if they go in the wrong direction in life.

That much having said or rather posted, you can carry on quietly with your name gathering ( which is fine ) as long ,as it REMAINS, as just a name gathering excercise for your own pleasure.

Fine, ban for fatal accident

A MOTORIST was fined $5,000 and banned from driving for three years on Wednesday for causing the death of a motorcyclist who died 4 1/2 months after the accident.

Pow Cher Boey, a 54-year-old nurse manager, admitted to causing the death of Mr Sze Khin Fatt, 54, at the uncontrolled junction of Hougang Avenue 10 and a carpark on Jan 19 last year.

He discovered later that the $3500 guitar was severely damaged. They didnâ€™t deny the experience occurred but for nine months the various people he communicated with put the responsibility for dealing with the damage on everyone other than themselves and finally said they would do nothing to compensate me for my loss. The issue about this Sin Ming Eidtor case has already been closed as it has already been dealt with by the Appeal Court.

editor beat red light, banged into riders, pillion died, rider heavily injured.

some reports showed her calling her son ard the time of accident (use hp while driving?).

also she was late for spa appointment.

and she was initially sentenced to 18 months jail.

then the other judge swee swee made an error, reduced to 1 day jail and $10,000 fine. but later JUST NICE realised this charge CANNOT use fine for sentencing, hence the $10,000 fine was waived off. her other $2000 fine was from another charge.

so she paid $2k, 1 day jail - which we interpret as 1 day behind bars, perhaps in a remand centre instead of PRISON.

I just sent a suggestion to BBDC, in view that their annual "Ride Safe Campaign" is around the corner (October 2009):

Hi,

I am an avid learner (classes 2B, 2A, 3) in BBDC and i really appreciate the societal responsibilities BBDC had undertaken by introducing Ride Safe Campaign.

I just had a conversation with TXX from the Training department, and had a couple of ideas regarding the Ride Safe Campaign 2009.

1) Perhaps this year's tagline for Ride Safe 2009 could be something in the lines of "Road Safety for ALL road users."

2) Perhaps we can invite drivers to be part of the program so that they may understand what bikers go through on a daily basis.

If we pillion drivers around courses like the narrow plank, pylon slalom and e brake, they can have a first hand experience of what it feels like on a bike, with vehicles around them, and what are some of the difficulties we faced.

Road safety, afterall, includes all users. A safe rider can evade most accidents, but a safe driver can help by minimising risky manouveurs too.

As i am typing this comment, i recall how the local news editor beat the red light and caused a pillion's death and was subsequently sentenced to just 1 day jail and $2,000 fine. We need less drivers like these, definitely.

While 2008's campaign was a roaring success with the safety ambassadors (riders), i feel that a much more powerful message may be posted to the public if instead, we have "Safety for bikers" advocates WHO ARE DRIVERS themselves.

Because a driver is likely to have more driver friends, and to have a biker tell a driver "safety for me please" is not as powerful as if a driver remind his friends "Look out for bikers!".

3) Lastly, I have thought abt a "Remembrance day", perhaps a day in the line of "Black Ribbon Day". Where everyone and anyone may show their respects for those who have fallen, on the roads, by attaching a black ribbon on their vehicles, be it bikers or drivers. This is kinda reminding us to ride and drive safe while at the same time, we get to show respect for our fallen friends.

Thank you for your time and efforts in encouraging safety on the roads.

So what type of posts are you gonna post?

I have met up with TS and a few forrumers regarding this issue, a couple of months back, and i can assure all u guys, we are not trying to denounce the sentence or show up in might to "overcome" anything.

Perhaps a more constructive thing to do is to raise more awareness so that us riders/ bikers can be in a safer environment to ride our bikes.

We may not be able to turn back time for things that happened before. But we can try to change the future.

Will update the lists in a while.

I just sent a suggestion to BBDC, in view that their annual "Ride Safe Campaign" is around the corner (October 2009):

Hi, I am an avid learner (classes 2B, 2A, 3) in BBDC and i really appreciate the societal responsibilities BBDC had undertaken by introducing Ride Safe Campaign. I just had a conversation with TXX from the Training department, and had a couple of ideas regarding the Ride Safe Campaign 2009.

1) Perhaps this year's tagline for Ride Safe 2009 could be something in the lines of "Road Safety for ALL road users."

2) Perhaps we can invite drivers to be part of the program so that they may understand what bikers go through on a daily basis.

If we pillion drivers around courses like the narrow plank, pylon slalom and e brake, they can have a first hand experience of what it feels like on a bike, with vehicles around them, and what are some of the difficulties we faced. Road safety, afterall, includes all users. A safe rider can evade most accidents, but a safe driver can help by minimising risky manouveurs too.

As i am typing this comment, i recall how the local news editor beat the red light and caused a pillion's death and was subsequently sentenced to just 1 day jail and $2,000 fine. We need less drivers like these, definitely.

While 2008's campaign was a roaring success with the safety ambassadors (riders), i feel that a much more powerful message may be posted to the public if instead, we have "Safety for bikers" advocates WHO ARE DRIVERS themselves. Because a driver is likely to have more driver friends, and to have a biker tell a driver "safety for me please" is not as powerful as if a driver remind his friends "Look out for bikers!".

3) Lastly, I have thought abt a "Remembrance day", perhaps a day in the line of "Black Ribbon Day". Where everyone and anyone may show their respects for those who have fallen, on the roads, by attaching a black ribbon on their vehicles, be it bikers or drivers.

This is kinda reminding us to ride and drive safe while at the same time, we get to show respect for our fallen friends.

Thank you for your time and efforts in encouraging safety on the roads.

I have met up with TS and a few forrumers regarding this issue, a couple of months back, and i can assure all u guys, we are not trying to denounce the sentence or show up in might to "overcome" anything.

Perhaps a more constructive thing to do is to raise more awareness so that us riders/ bikers can be in a safer environment to ride our bikes. We may not be able to turn back time for things that happened before. But we can try to change the future.
