eh i m 1.56m, riding ktm200, short fork but stock rear shock. a bit high for me, my both feet cannot touch ground concurrently. have to shift around a lot. it's a matter of time getting use to the bike.

ermm .. feet totally not touching the ground or tip toed .. i've experience that before, but the outcome was disastrous wen it comes to uneven ground ... if u noe wat i mean...

mind sharing with me how much does the ktm200 cost? Thanks!

It's quite common for scram riders to just tiptoe with one leg at traffic light. After a while, it becomes second nature.

When riding, regardless of terrain, your feet should be on the footpeg and not on the ground. Rider's height is never an issue when on the move, the problem is when the bike is stopped.

Exactly!! there r way too many traffic lights in s'pore ... as I'm petite, guess wld hv difficulty tip-toeing in stationary mode while having a pillion riding along.... esp a big size one .. :cheeky:

guess, scrambler has to be ruled out ...

Neway, thanks!

If you really like scramblers, there are bikes which are suitable for the vertically challenged riders, such as the Suzuki DR200, Honda Vara125.

Once you are more confident, and riding more proficiently, bike's height, relative to rider, becomes secondary.

Our 80's local mx champion, Steven Lee (owner of Ideal Motors), is a short guy, and that did not stop him from riding scamblers, in fact he went on to race competitively in the region.

sorry for the late reply. I don't use the ktm for pillion or transport, solely for off road only. honestly i hate stopping at traffic lights or when trailing.

my ktm cost ard $3.6k left with 2 or 3 years COE brought from my friend and it comes with a lot of goodies. you can get cheaper ones.

do consider dr200, xr200, xr125, these bikes are quite low.

my sole purpose wld be more for transport n pillion. ya i'll feel funny too stopping at traffic lights n having to keep on switching. furthermore, seems like scrams r built more for off road riding ...

Scrams are built for it's ruggedness, the terrain will dictate the selection of tyres.

why not try a motard? scrams are meant for off road riding. but motards are getting popular cos it's very road friendly. as you say, if it's for transport and pillion, a motard would be the best option for you. normally, people would get a scrambler for off road purposes only while having another bike to ride on the road. if you're looking for fancy and low scramblers, can try husqvarna sm 125. but other good low-height scramblers will be honda xr 125, suzuki dr200, kawasaki ksr 110(cannot pillion but power!).

the Kawa KLX250 seems to be a dirt track bike... judging from the tyres.
