Me too..actually I saw the FX at New Southern with Hoho. It's originally an FU plate. Machine price is 5.5k. Thinking of getting it but my backside will tear for sure! :giddy:

Need help!

 

My TZM is running badly and not sure why. From idle to about 7000 rpm it runs fine, same as always. But from 7000rpm on it backfires, runs badly, feels like misfires, shuddery, etc. No power. So I basically can't drive over 7000rpm.

 

I took it into the shop that I always use, and they have been very good, normally bike feels like new after tuning. I took it in and the mechanic said that the 2T controller was messed up, and putting too much 2T in the mix, causing the lose of power, backfiring, etc. (also 2T consumption was increased, and fouling plugs more often). So ordered in a new 2T controller and replaced, then tuned.

 

I drove away but still same problem, won't go over 7000rpm. Shop was closed so couldn't go immediately back. Before I go tomorrow, I thought I would check if anyone else has had a similar experience, and any thoughts as to what could be the problem? Is it just tuning is bad? Could exaust have gotten plugged or wrecked before when there was too much 2T in the system? Engine damage? From idle to 7000 rpm it is fine, pulls smooth, exhaust sounds fine/same, but then its like hitting a wall at about 7000rpm.....

 

Any help is much appreciated, want to get my bike sorted out this week, as plan to head to Sepang for MotoGP and want my bike running properly....

the problem muz be something with the powervalve one...Encountered similar problems last tyme... exhaust damn noisy and bike fells like a lorry like tat...

if from idle to 7000 rpm it runs fine and after dat got problem, most probably its ur powervalve...

check valve, servo motor and cable...

thanks for the responses, took my bike in today to a different shop and explained the problem and before i could finished he said "powervalve and should check exhaust". That was reassuring as that was the consensus of the board...

 

Should have bike back tomorrow :)

do a full service.

 

i suspect backfire is either die to 1. piston ring jam inside piston n thus lost of compression

 

2. plug foul.

my problem in earlier posts turned out to be a combo problem of carbon filled exhaust, and frayed powervalve cable...

 

runs like a dream now! haha i forgot that this can be a quick bike! i was used to driving like a grandma around 5Krpm the last little bit, but so nice to be able to use all the revs again... thanks all!!

 

I was also wondering if anyone is headed to sepang for MotoGP? I'll be staying in KL friday until monday morning, if anyone wants to meet up in kl or sepang and talk motogp and tzm's let me know :cheeky:
