I just ask RSM for trip Thailand, you know what he said~?

 

He ask me to go Chiang Mai instead of HatYai, Chiang Mai safer :giddy: Uh~Ya~Booooh~~! :faint:

 

But mum aka CO worries for me leh~ she says she stress, don't know wanna go or not :(

Below are one of the post I get from other forum~ :)

 

As per 13 June 2007

 

I WILL NOT suggest anyone to go up to Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat... where all the chaotic activities surfaces. Its really unsafe in Pattani as there were heavy weapon military personnel and police guards at gantry post everywhere. The railways tracks were derailed and some deaths were involved. I was stuck there for 2 damn days. Its scary !

 

But I will strongly urge u guys to go up to Hatyai ! The local tourist industry needs YOU !! The street hawkers needs YOU ! The red light district needs YOU ! Some of the shop operators cannot maintain and thus have to ceased operations. Go and enjoy with your family there.

 

Hatyai is now a GHOST TOWN. There were hardly more than 6 tourist walking on the street at any one time. You can see very clearly the street rats running around at the far end of the road. And I was the only occupant staying on the 5th floor of the 4 star hotel. The rest of the rooms were totally ghostly empty.

 

Whether its holiday trip or business trip......It is still rather safe in Hatyai. Just listen to the local people and u will be safe there. Avoid going to Cold Storage and Robinson and certain night joins or pubs. Give them back their livelyhood, their business and their earnings. They really really need tourist to back them up. There were much much lesser military personnel and police in Hatyai.

 

I have a total of 8 days business cum holiday trip - 2 days in Pattani, 1 day in Narathiwat, 1 day in Sadao, Dulop, etc etc and 4 days in Hatyai.

 

One word of advice...open your eyes and ears , listen to the local people, watch the local news reel, watch your own back and choose a hotel that provides military guards or security measures. oh ! Most important.... bring lots of spending money for their tourist industry. They really needs it.
