For ta 200 bad points

1. No oil filter thus have to change eo every 2km (highly reccomended).

Problem is that many drag this and their eo starts to leak etc and overhaul(The no.1 overhaul reason for ta2oo for both the gearbox and engine)

Small mistake there? ;)

2. Can reach speeds of 130km/hr(on your speedo of course) and good pick up.

Curious, have you ever tested the inaccuracy of the speedo?

Nice list of Pro's & Cons. Cheers!

I am also very big size, weight 100++KG, 1.85m tall. I love my Bajaj Pulsar that is serving me for the past 5 months. Machine price about 2k+ to 3K, depending on age and condition.

I choose this becoz its a low maintenance bike, fuel efficient, look good with side box+top box, riding style same as driving center bikes.

Phantom did come across my mind but I am scare of the fish tail problem, so decided not to get it.

Actually, my ultimate aim is to get FZ150i, but due to lack of 2nd hand bike available on the market and limited budget, I decided not to get it.

But what I can say is that I have no regret with the Pulsar 180 version. Now with the 200cc version, it might be attractive to most ppl, but 20cc different is not much of a difference. :cheeky:

Narrowed down my choice to TA200 or Vara125... Any Vara125 guru in here? loll

maybe u want to consider roadwinR (Roadsport) for a big size man.

can't find any sizes difference when park side-by-side with 400 n 600.

check it out at cka, http://www.cka.com.sg .

price of new for rwR is approx. 8.6k.

price of new vara is approx. 15k.

both r big in size, rwR is EFI.

if u r considering 2nd hand bike then vara (5~6k) n phantom (2k) r available.

rwR is still new in the market, no 2nd hand bike yet.

sorry my intrusion but roadwin bikes have very low resale value unless you want to ride it for a long long time (just look at the sales threads). Vara is super ex, might as well safe the money for super 4 later when you get class 2A.

My preference for 2B is Phantom 200. It's powerful (trusted Honda engine), fuel efficient, superb suspension and cruiser style suits me. I'm also tall and big size type. The seat is definitely very comfortable and for pillion is spacious. After owning two Phantoms I can't get use to sports bike stoop low profile and scramble narrow seat (although it looks nice). Resale value is there and it's not expensive. Having a box behind looks ok (it's practical in Singapore for helmet, raincoat).

why not also consider Phantom 150. ( 2 stroke )

Has a big rider seat & can run quite fast for a 2B bike. Affordable also.

1997 TZR 125 - 1998 FZ 150 - 1999 GSXR 400K - 1999 RX 100 - 2000 LC 125 - 2001 TZR 125 - 2002 CB 400 Ver S - 2006 CBR 929 - 2006 GETZ 1.4 - 2009 STEED 400 - 2016 ???

Riders ride to work. Drivers work to drive.

all 3 bikes,

roadwin, phantom, vara

are different kind of bikes

serve different purpose too.

choose what suits your needs best.

big 2b scooters? Big convenient storage and optional box if u want EVEN more storage space madness! easily 2.5 times the storage space compared to normal bike. Auto gear, relaxed riding, no damage to your left shoe from gear lever. Most importantly, go work your leather shoes and pants bottom will be dry if the road is wet! sufficient cruising speed for singapore highways!

2b scooter for transport. But if u wanna play gears, revs, corner, speed then get a sports bike. Personally i would get a comfortable 2b bike for transport and wait for 2a/2 before getting a play bike for leisure, much more fun then 2b play bikes (unless u talking about the scrambler/sports bike 2 stroker 2bs)

Just saw Bajaj auto website, came across pulsar125 and avenger 200...

Anyone is familiar with these 2 models, need to know the pro and cons..

Chosing between these 2 due to lower price and wanted to get a 1st hand as my next upgrade will be into a car...

Posted

For pulsar, Singapore only got 135 (waiting for shipment to come), 180 and 200cc.

Avenger, if not wrong also using pulsar engine and technology, just that one is naked bike and one is cruiser. Go take a look at Universal Motor at Alexander (opp. Queensway shopping center) and talk to their salesman.

They won't bite. :D

i think if you are bothered about size, don't get the 135 cc for bajaj. its size is a bit like rxz, only a weeny bit bigger.

if you like to settle on one bike before next upgrading to a car and you like to play with clutch, why not just jump straight to an aprilia rs125? i'm sure you'll love the bike. if you want a better maintainance but not so powerful as compared to aprilia rs125, you can consider yamaha r125. both look big and pretty enough! if money is of a factor, can get a bajaj pulsar 180/200.

if you are really short of cash, you can consider ta200. 2nd hand ones are readily available. a very good transport bike where you can fix it anywhere in sg or jb. but you won't get maximum pleasure from it unless you really like those cruiser bikes. different ppl, different taste mah. if u like scrambler, can always get vara! it's the ultimate touring bike for class2b.

I will be keeping the bike even after getting my car, so wanted something cheaper and lesser maintenence best if new..

Been nagged for wanting to get a racing bike, so end up given choices for naked or cruiser bike only:dozed:

Nope. No $ + interest. Speed is not an issue for me. Been at 140 on my speedometer and it was enough for the thrill.

TA200 dont cost much to maintain.

But once over 3yrs.... wear and tear comes along. so just have to change those parts which might cost abit.

Basic maintenance only EO and filter and brake pads.

Your frd gearbox is not I have heard of, that is definitely not common prob for TA200.

Just look outside which class 2b have the most on the road. Which 2A bikes on the roads you can always see riding past.

There is definitely why so many pple choose that model. Coz is cheap and good :p

Con on Ta200 ya.. fishtail. If you are not experience and careful enough, you might skid easily. Just be more alert and dont turn.brake too harsh. i dont see why will you skid even though Ta200 wieght distribution is not very ideal.
