Is it adviseable to install a KNN filter to my '98 916?

Thanks!

Just try....if not good, at least you will be happy that you have a washable filter that last like 100k Miles if I'm not wrong.

I ran 3M aircon filter element on my bike, I also had the bike running without air filter but with metal grills at the ram air intake before. Bike "seems" better without the grill but with air filter.

Just try the K&N...at worse is just more $$$ spend. You from RSAF? Mech group or EW group?

Where can I have the KNN installed on my bike? Recommended mech?

How much would it costs approx?

What's the pros and cons of having KNN installed instead of the stock air filter?

Thanks!

Picked up my Multistrada 620 on Saturday and had blast during the weekend! Despite the rain and that the machine is still running in so I've gotta keep the revs low, I absolutely loved the ride!

Now I'm officially Ducatista!

Cynide > KnN Filters are designed to be drop in replacements, noneed to tune. Unless you buy highflow racing air filters, those require tuning the bike to run properly. The biggest plus for KnN filters is that they're washable.

So that means stock air filters need to be tuned?

Thanks!

Every maj serv, you will surely run the bike thru the O2 sensor machine at Minerva right?

Maj Serv as in the timing belt, valve clearance 20k servicing. And by right, some of the tuning already starts partially during the belt replacement, I was told.

Where you service your Duc?

You seems very lost leh...you have the owner manual?

Of course, the above mention is just the routine tuning. Performance tuning is another matter and it's anyone's meat or poison.

for ducatis, normally it comes with the stock ECU, or if you have the termis (illegal, straight thru) exhaust and freer air flow air filter, the package should also comes with another ECU.

however, unless you are a hard core racing, you should not be bothered with the tuning.

Hi,

Yes i am very lost. Lolx.

I juz got my Duke.

For 916s, everything is best leave to stock is it?

What stock is not good and u need to change to aftermarket?

etc, clutch slave pump?

Thanks!

If you don't feel anything wrong with your bike, then don't change anything!

If you feel something needs or could be improved, then it would be worth the change. Otherwise you can spend thousands and not know what you've improved, not much point right?

So far I feel what's really lousy on the Duc is the Clutch Slave Cylinder, because it seems to leak over a couple of yrs. What you could do is to find out the price of OEM parts, and then the aftermarket parts and compare the difference in dollars and cents, and finally determine yourself is it worth it or not.

Another component I ever change before was the Brake Master Pump to Brembo Radial 19 x 20. Much better than the stock ones because my bike is a 1997' 748 and the OEM brembo is not any cheaper.

The rest of the things, like what Neo suggest is if you need it or not. I believe I rode one of the most stock Duc sportsbike then.

I got mine when I bought over the bike, as in the previous owner handed over to me with the bike. You could try downloading it. General infos like fuel types, capacity, removal of fairings, lightbulbs replacement, engine oil types, servicing schedules, tyre pressure, etc.

I also downloaded the part list from the Ducati website which we don't get with the bike, and I normally check the part number before I call up Minerva. But of course, I let them double check unless I'm very sure and is in a rush (hit and run).

My owner manual I hand over to the new owner. It's for 748 & 996.
