bro, i dono whether the 749r comes with slipper clutch or not but my advice to you is before you jump into the ducati bandwagon, get to understand the cost of maintaining the bike. i almost bought the 749s but was told that the maintanence is going to be like abt 2k plus for every major servicing. the R machines are not like any normal jap bikes. they are race tune and most of the time they are meant to be pushed to the limit. you would be better off with the base model.

This is where you could download Owner's Manual for bikes Yr 2000 and newer. There's a maintenance reference in the manual. Full servicing we normally refer to is the 10k (not so ex) and the 20k (expensive) servicings.

 

There's even a parts catalogue to download, which is useful if you are a handy man. Works well for me.

aite. so if i get the 749 the cost of maintenance would be lower rite. still thinking which one to consider, the 999 or 749. could someone tell me the difference in maintaning the bikes i.e the servicing cost and every how long do u guys normally go servicing on average, fuel consumption also how is it?. would a 999 2nd hand cost me bout 30000k. and 749? haven't got the time to go down to minerva, mayb the weekends. thanx

The maintenance cost for 749 and 999 equivalent models are identical. You pay more for insurance and road tax only. Fuel consumption should be higher for the 749 unless you ride it real easy.

 

If you're not willing to fork out around $500 per 10,000km for regular maintenace of your duke, then you gotta look elsewhere.

And the 20k servicing is on the avg $750. If you ride the bike daily, these mileagues clock up real fast, so fast that you thought the odometer is faulty. You will need a spare bike if you plan to own a Duke Superbike, unless, you are rich.

hi bro you seems fairing new to ducati bikes. for buudget sakes, look for a bike thats 3-5 yrs old and has good track records (ie been serviced regularly).

if you are not into track riding, 749 would be sufficient for spore roads. if you are concern with fuel economy, then ducati bikes are not for you, the servicing and maintenance is so costly already and this is the area you should be concern with in the first place.

Best was 1min 47.89sec on a fresh pair of Metzeler Racetec (July).... Average timing recently is around 1min 49secs.... (Ball Shrink.....)

2nd attempt was 2.03

Gotta change my timing belt, chain and sprocket b4 i head down again

just changed to Corsa III. giving it a try
