From what I've learnt there's only 1500 of the 'sedicis in the entire world. They're somewhat like "made-to-order". Ducati started orders sometime in 2006 I believe (not to sure exact time period) to owners of 999Rs (priority) then to others. Each one has a serial number from 1 - 1500.

In Sg there are a few very lucky and filthy rich guys who are going to be proud owners of this VERY limited bike. Not sure exact numbers but I heard rumors of around 9-ish are ordered here. Also heard the price of 1 is around $120k+- OTR.

The orders are closed and Ducati have no intention of taking any more orders.

So to guys who are really interested well you're too late.

Anyway seems the 1098R is a better package just not as exclusive and rare collectable as the desmosedici. $80k+ for real traction control, slipper clutch etc etc. The sedici dosen't have traction control tho.

One doesn't have to be filthy rich to own a Desmosedici or 1098R. Majority of people who can own a car would be able to afford a 1098R, should they decide to.

I don't think there are that many of us who would fork out half our monthly salary on an exotic superbike, but it is within reach, unlike exotic cars.

:faint: yeah I know . Even I can afford a sedici. Just have to sell my flat, my bike, tell my wife to give all her salary to me and if I have kids I would have to give them up for adoption. I'm not saying the average joe can't by any means get 1.

Point is... your're comparing apples to durians (bikes to cars) in a way. Who would spend that kind of money on a bike? Well obviously those who have to extra cash because it would then have to be a hobby in this case. Some rich guys wouldn't spend that cash unless they take it as a hobby and can therefore justify it. Ah... that's the keyword; "justify". Come on la... exotic cars in your example?

ANYWAY the MAIN point in my post was to the guys who were talking about the sedici. What I was saying was there's no way for them to order 1 (as far as what I know) and for $80k+ you can order a 1098R and it comes with more technology but just less exclusivity (mind you the R is still very exclusive.) and in my humble opinion I think it's a nice "substitute". That's all.

I love Ducs and I'm not rich. Hell I'm even having problems getting my damn 848. Just love them to bits and was just sharing what I know from my obsessiveness (did I spell that right? or is there such a word at all? :faint: ) with everyone. I seldom post for all the years I've been a member of SBF anyway.

Sorry for the long post. Just ranting away. Sorry also if i sound offensive especially to you nEO. Just that I saw your reply this afternoon and it's been bugging me till now. Your reply just made me feel stupid. :( I just had to post this reply even after thinking thru that its most likely a misunderstanding. The same kind of misunderstanding that comes from reading text just like the humble sms. I usually would just let it slide and not reply. Sorry that you're the first. Just to be clear I'm not filled with anger. Just want to speak up.

And finally thanks to anyone that read till this sentence. You're really patient!

hey pple, not sure if any of you were at Blooies at Science Park yesterday. They screen MotoGP there.

Perhaps next race if you guys are keen, can watch the race together, easy parking etc.

Next race Portugal GP - Apr 13.

Hey, you're very lucky to have caught this~!

Which manifold are you talking about? The intake tubes that run all the way to the front fairing? or the manifold in the airbox itself?

Actually, Eugene is the one that spotted that weilding thingy.

Not sure which manifold it was. Y leh?

Wonder will there be any chance of Singapore owner gettin One here?

Yup.. HAve.. He's a tall guy. Works for BMW i think.

Forgot his name, but i know Fweddy know's him. Heard his good on the track.

Bike should be in his hands in Sep, i think.

Yo bro, you don't have to sell your house and all that. I'm just stating that anyone who owns a decent 2.0 sedan car can own a Desmosedici, should they decide to trade a comfortable family car for one of the most exotic and exclusive motorcycles money can buy.

I've owned a Ducati (two actually), bitten by the Termignoni bug, tasted the pain of ownership, and enjoyed every moment of riding a Duc. Enjoy your 848! It as the same power-weight ratio as the 2003 999, so don't feel bad about owning "a damn 848" cos its a fantastic machine too. :)

Still wish I could own my fav M1000DS~!

Corse > I don't know if you noticed, but I taped up the resonators in the intake ram air runners. I don't know if they increase intake roar since the termis are so darn fruity anyway. Should improve airflow alittle.

Clean and oil your race filters often! I clean them at every oil change.
