Hey guys,

Just waiting on confirmation of a new 848 and need to pick up some kit!

I have my leathers arriving from the UK (where I am from) at end of the month and am looking for some light weight summer kit for riding in town etc. Popped up to Chiap Lee to pick up a second lid but not keen on the jacket selection.

Any advice on this would be much appreciated and also when is the next meet?

Cheers Ben

I picked up a Dainese mesh jacket from the official retailer a few weeks ago. Liking it so far. Doesn't heat up too easily. Just under 400bucks. They probably have whatever else gear you might be looking for too.

I have a '05 S2R Monster. The tachometer in the gauge cluster is spoilt. I dismantled the gauge cluster unit and zeroed in the problem as a piece of plastic in the stepper motor that has broken off. I need a replacement steper motor (or maybe the entire gauge cluster unit).

Would anyone know where I can get hold of an OEM replacement for this stepper motor or gauge cluster?

hello guys,

am wondering if you know what the cost of servicing my ohlin front forks will turn out to be.

it's leaky...prob due to the seal hardening due to underusage.

:(

The secret of success is knowing whom to blame for your failure.

Based on personal experience, it is unlikely that Ducati sells the stepper motor by itself (easily verified by flipping through the parts catalogue). If you are a DIY kinda guy, you could probably source for the brand n model without going thru Ducati.

Got it at $65. But got to top up the battery water ourselves. Went to a battery shop in autpoint to top up the water and charged.

THEFT NOTICE

Theft rate of components (this time is headlight protectors levers & master pumps) & easy removal items has been on the rise these 2 mths again.

A month back Jln Membina. A few weeks back in Tampines. Now it struck bishan. A total of 4~5 bikes have been the victim.

All the bikes in the same MSCP have been struck. Even OEM components/stuffs are not spared. Lost items vary from $200~$1000.

Any 996SPS owners re-chip their ecu or install Dynojet PC3? Appreciate if you can share your experience.

I presume your SPS likes to fouls plugs when travelling slowly and does not like to idle. Most probably it is running the ducati performance Eprom which is way too rich for normal riding. A PC III would be the best solution but I found out that tweaking the trimmer did it for me.

Sorry Guys THE ORIGINAL GOLD is no longer suitable for display

The bike is currently on Eprom for Race pipe but with standard street legal Termis installed. Idle is stable. It's the off idle response and low rpm jerkiness that makes it a bit difficult to use in heavy traffic situation.

Where do you recommend for PCIII installation and tuning for the duke?

i think they are very different from inline 4 with those smooth delivery thru the rev ranges...what about higher rev ranges? does it feels better and more responsive?? think you probably need to ride it harder and often to get used to its behaviour.......:shades:

Top end is ok. Although not as powerful as my other rides. :shades:

I was just wondering if the response can be improved as described by some websites.

Pottering along a below 3k rpm can be quite jerky with small throttle opening. The bike actually feel too responsive because the engine respond immediately to throttle input due to the light flywheel.

Duckula is right, you just need to turn the throttle more compared to the jap bikes. The Duc throttle seem to work through a larger angle.

Well.... I dont want to answer that.

No one can set the market price for a bike that doesn't belong to him.

I dont own the market. I only own my bike....

If you want to buy my bike, I can tell you 'my price' and of course this price only applies to my bike and no other bike. So this is not the market price.

No offence to anyone but I hope this is a fair approach...

Maintenance wise, got no issue as I only use it once a week. Anything may be slightly more expensive but.........

with a twist of the wrist and the roar of the exhaust.. it is all well worth it........
