hi. i'm guessing somewhere around 40k for the basic 1098, and further 10-20k increments for the S and R models. You should call the official dealer Minerva at 62984777 for accurate info.

Dear Duke riders,

For those track junkies, please advise your friends that please DO NOT STOP in the track. On 30th December, I had the scare of my life when I see 5 bike parked around Turn 4 in all direction

One bike parked just past the apex, facing reverse direction and a 999 or 1098 at the end of the rumble strip. At such a high speed corner, should I drift wide onto the rumble strip, I would crashed into the stationery duke at speed of 130-140 km/hr.

If the fallen rider is up and okie, there is no need to stop ur bike to help him.

If you have to stop to help, please ride all the way into the gravel trap and park at the tyre wall.

We all know the PG front straight incident which happened around this time last year and no one wish to see a repeat of that incident.

A few of the rider who stopped at T4 are foreign expatriates and when I query one of them.

He said they have to stop and help since this is Pasir Gudang and not Sepang.

If you ask me, I rather have a bike that is lying down than a rider who is lying down.

Please act rationally and maturely in a track where life and death can be at stake

Bro, being there during that session myself. it was a practice session and by the time I was there, there was, as you said 4-5 riders there to help. There was a rider waving to slow down. For me I knew immediately, there was a rider down and slowed down. I appreciate that versus going in at pace to see a rider in the middle of the racing line.

Having personal experience with T4 myself, I do appreciate any help rendered like warning oncoming riders. that rider was down on the apex of T4.

So here's my question, what is the proper thing to do then? See you at pitlane?

Actually, any riders we saw the incident should go into the pit lane and inform the Marshaller ASAP!!! That is the safest way... NEVER NEVER NEVER stop on the track or near the track... If there is really a need, go right to the wall.... Too bad PG does not have Flag Marshaller waving the yellow flags....

I had the same bad encounter once too.....

Like what Cagiva said, the right thing is to ride back to the pits and inform the marshall. That is basic track ethics which don't even need mentioning.

By stopping your bike inappropriately on the track, you may help the first fallen rider but inevitably cause a second fallen rider.

In a life and death situation where you have to stop to help, ride all the way into the gravel trap and stop by the wall you don't cause another accident with your bike.

When I am in the track, I only look out for the colour flags and focus on my riding and line. I do not have any attention left to look out for riders waving their hand.

Yeah saw that a couple of days ago, interesting the strip is close to the new Ducati and Puma logo's?

I was messing with a model the other day and tried to see what a 1098 would look likewith a strip like in the Ducati logo, you can follow the lines of the bike quite well, If I get round to geting some race fairings, it might end up being my colour scheme (except in black).

Cheers

It doesn't matter what the question is, the answer is more power!

Maybe Mary from Minerva can help U with that...

Mine was imported too, but ex owner left for Italy already... Never knew how he did it, but the only thing i know is that it cost a lot of $$$.... :faint:

1st and foremost..sorry to hijack your thread..

I totally agree with cagiva03 and yellowbiker..they SHOULD NOT STOP ON THE TRACK AND HELP. Go park at the tire wall if you have to..

There is this red fairing duke parked a few metres from the T4 apex..WTF!! Wat is he thinking?? The apex is where bikes are closest to the corner..

Then another 1 or 2 duke parked on the rumble strip on the exit of T4..Another prawn brain..That is my exit line(others too)

There are so many hazards and attention grabber(guy waving to slow down)..that its so unfairly unsafe for other riders.

Pls dun do this at PG again...

Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

I'd like to share an incident at PG.

My friend when in to fast into Turn5 and went really wide into the gravel and grass area and dropped his bike. I was still a newbie back then, and when i saw him, i parked my bike off the track onto the rocky grass area where it was safe away from the track.
