I strongly do not advice hard running in. Stick to the manual. Not only do u have to run in ur gears and engine components. But u have to run in the oil in ur suspension as well which u can't do this at the dyno.

I've been to Honda Headquaters to personally see bikes manufactured. I've been told by the instructors/racers to do a proper run in. It doesn't take that long to run in. I travelled with my brand new bike for less than a month and my mileage is already 1850km. Fully run in already.

but I wonder then how those racer run in their new bike? I can't imagine Stoner or Hayden lap round and round the circuits slowly to RUN IN..

even if there is a test rider to RUN IN for them.. how many engine needs to be RUN IN for both Stoner and Hayden?

Yup! i remember reading it from somewhere that the team change the engines every 500 to 800km. Thats to ensure optimum compressions in the blocks!

no real effect except it'll be much louder and you dont have as much protection for your clutch. I was using a CF half cover. Changed to a billet cover now as the half cover really offers almost no protection if you drop/crash ur bike.

how bout rain?

I was riding a 999. For me, if riding in the rain, its not a problem.

But.. If my bike was left in the rain. Then, when i start my bike, there isn't that usuall ringing sound. Then when i engage to gear 1, the bike tries to move like as though its at half clutch when its not. Ride the bike for a few mins and this small problem goes away.

Anyone tried the Pirelli Dragon supercorsa? Comments and feedback appreciated!

I've not, but i've heard 1 person saying it has very good grip in the dry and wet.

Another person says it not so good in the wet.

Well, i like to use the Metzler K2. Cheaper and still gives me what i want.

is this still available?

Been on the racetecs thought they were the best, then tried the Pirelli Diablo supercorsa pro. Damn song ah. better grip and loads of feedback.

Anyway, tire choice is personal... what works for me may not work for another.

hi Yan_r6 , are you intending to selling your monster? I intend to get a brand new one ... but just cannot make up a decision if I should invest in one right now... but again very tempting .... one quick question ... as it is air cool, does it get heat up easily during in traffic ? will the engine stalled?

Heard from a review site , that the mirror is pretty redundunt, since it vibrate so much, you get blur image when using the side mirrors?

I am looking at the Yamaha and Honda bike at the same time ... but owning a monster has always been a dream come truth... Love to hear more about your experience with your 696
