Noobie here. Im planning to join the proud Ducati family as a hypermotard owner. Before I commit myself, can I get an honest opinion in regards to my concerns?

 

A) What is the price range for monthly maintenance?

B) Are the parts readily available in case of emergency?

There is no monthly maintenance- it just depends on your mileage.

 

Fuel consumption is on the high side for a bike- you get about 10-12 KM/L depending on exactly how you ride. My consumption is on the high side.

 

Rear tires don't last a long time, either, unless you go with a sport-touring rather than a hyper-sport type of tire.

 

If you're riding the bike how it likes to be ridden (hooligan) you will find these are the biggest expenses.

 

An oil change is 4L + filter & labor.

 

Major service is every 12k for a valve clearance check, which would be several hundred i presume, but I haven't hit that yet. You could call Minerva and ask for the price.

 

Some parts are common with other Ducatis and are available. Specific parts like the bodywork aren't generally in stock (or cheap) so you might need to wait a couple of weeks for the next shipment.

I'm not sure what the price will tat be but IMO if u tink its worth it.. u should get it... 749 was in my wish list tat time & I tink itz a great bike~ :cool:

Where do you guys put your IU??

 

Mine's currently in the middle of my instrument cluster and is kind of blocking the view of the Temp Gauge...

going to get a pressure plate and vented cover in Wallaby I hope, but for the mean time... i did this...

I removed the clutch cover gasket and put in 4 spacers...

 

if deafening to clutch in when riding into my basement carpark without my helmet on... lol...

I guess the message it's trying to send is.......

IT CAN BE ANYONE'S FAULT, NOT YOURS BUT IT AFFECTS YOU JUST THE SAME if you're at the wrong place, wrong time ......

 

Guess it serves as a chilling reminder that if we speed, it's ok if we suffer the consequences of broken bones, broken limbs but....what about the innocent victims that our actions caused?

i have the original pipes... lol... but i can't bear to switch it now... sounds so nice...

 

Fyi, I pass inspection twice already with my termi on. Not carbon tho. Both times I just told them its original.

 

Once i start the engine without any muffles on... that was amazing.....

I've always passed my inspection with Termis on! no sweat!
