Yeah I know what u mean about the rumble after shutting the throttle. That sound is priceless and nvr fails to get people to stare, regardless wanted or unwanted stares hahaha

Mine never fail to set off car alarms in car parks :cheeky:

love the rumble from 2nd when you shut the throttle when you almost hit the redline :thumb:

To all those Duke riders who prefer older models, I totally understand your feelings. I personally prefer a pure carburator bike, it feels rough and you can hear the roar of the engine. Sure these older bikes may not out-perform the new models with their many electronics, etc etc.....BUT I personally feel that older bikes have real personality. New bikes with EFI feel too smooth, too slick and too fast (I'm really short-sighted, esp at night). I really miss my 2001 R1, the last carb model before the EFI. I rode her for 5 years and wanted to keep her inspite of many people telling me to sell her.

Sadly, due to personal problems, I had to let her go. To all those who dearly love their older darlings, keep enjoying them inspite of what the critics might say and stay true to your passion.

hi folks... i just collected my 999S today and have some questions so any help is appreciated.

1. I am not sure if my ride position is correct, ie if the rear ride height has been adjusted for quicker turn in. Anyone knows if there's any place I can go to check it out. Minerva?

2. Workshops to recommend? Just needed a general check to see if things are ok.

Sorry folks i haven't been riding for the past 5 years and am very out of touch. Taking the bike home today has been quite an experience with aching forearms, back and general fatigue... kinda need some help to make things better so I can enjoy my ride more. thanks.

love the pics, well taken. back in 2002 when i finally saved enough, minerva offered me this model at $22K or around that. i decided i wanted the old tamburini designed 900SS so started my hunt... a hunt that took me 8 years until last year when i found my baby

Good things come to those who wait... did you get the pipes which ended half an hour ago? SS owners getting rarer.

I can certainly identify with u, having come back to riding after 4 yrs, and straight onto my 1st sports bike, and to ducati at that. Nearly went for a 999s but very unwilling to take a loan & pay 5-6% interest. Also damn stressed when collecting my bike, just glad to make it home safely. But after that, my 2nd ride on my SS was much more comfy & enjoyable. I guess yr subsequent rides will just get better!

Your questions I asked Fesa this evening the same questions.... haha..... I believe he wld be happy to point u the right way.

Nice Ride!:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thanks Bro, u ride a RT? I was keen on an RT before my heart ruled in favour of a ducati.

Thanks for the compliments, wow, u certainly took great pains to find your dream baby... maybe i'll take a leaf outa yr book and spend the next few years waiting for a 998R....

Know exactly what you mean even though I am on a 10 yr old 748.. Cloud 9 every time I twist the throttle!

Thank God for that!

Last night while parked, a passerby gave the 'wow' looked when he walks pass... A few minutes later, he came by and ask if he can take pictures..

Such is the awe of the Ducati's. Despite my being 10 year old, it never fail to attract even when parked...

Another time, someone was dodging pedestrians at a traffic light to catch a glimpse of the ride when i rode pass with the new paint work.Be prepared for silly smiles under the helmet even in the blazing sun if you decide to own a Ducati.. I am sure the seniors here know what I mean..

yappiez

good topics to start a thread.anybody got some heart warming ducati story to share?

let me start the ball rolling.

a couple of years back on my very 1st duke , a brand new 1996 916bp(biposto)bought for obscene amount of money!

i 've already working in changi,1 of the nite after i knock off from my overtime , i purposely take d long way home by the sea side(ecp)turn off for fort road , aim for guillimard circus(juzz ask any old guy) & head towards s'pore badminton hall(old chaps 'll noe)

after i cruise from the highway for a considerable amount of time @ 6 than i go down to 4 in town, then exactly@dat time ,i feel the engine/Weber electronic injection very lumpy!

at dat particular moment , i 've already reach geylang & i was thinking drop a gear give it a big handfull to clear its throat , its not too clever on my part cause there 're some ppl around but not as crowded as geylang , now!

anyway to cut a long story short,i did what i NOT suppose to do & before i noe it , i heard siren , not 1 but 2 tp behind me!

GOTTA SAY,PAUL,DO KNOW HIS STUFF!!!!!!!!!

[/img]

OMG!

where the hell, they come from, anyway after the usual license/r tax stuff plus some lectures , believe it or not they ask me where did i buy my bike from, throughout their time on patrol(young chap,i must add) they

needless to say,i was left off with a warning.

of coarse i not gonna speed,no more,officer(repeat 100 x)

*ps-see u guys can beat dat?
