High quality carbon fiber are not cheap. Look at http://www.shift-tech-carbon.com/onlineshop/index.php?cat=c56_DIAVEL.html and you will understand what i mean. In an nutshell, things that are make for ducati are very expensive. My motard ohlins rear shock cost almost 2k! Since its a premium class bike, then it needs premium class stuffs. If you can, go for one time pain. Get the carbon diavel and save yourselves headache after buying these stuffs later. Incurring labour charge, shipping fees etc

 

Yah if I can ....... that's the main point ........ $48K plus the increase in COE plus Termi and ECU Have to sell my Triumph and Harley.

 

 

Costs usd1600 pre shipping costs and gst to carbonize the base model. the rims are probably expensive. U can get the base model and spend the "savings" on the sgd4k plus termis... Haha...

 

I also think that we can get the base model and put on carbon fiber bits and still won't exceed $6,000. I don't really bother about the rims. But I like the red frame!! That's not easy to achieve I think (can't just take a spray can and spray it LOL). Ducati really knows how to psycho pple to buy their "special" models ...

 

 

Me thinks the better looks itself compared to the base model justifies the premium price diff.

 

But I'm sticking to my SBK.... for now

ducati 've a practice of introducing an optional model like a ....................

carbon/R / S /SP /SPS/ models.what u pays in 6 k(claim) ,u 're definitely get back more,a lot more!

the carbon,the diamond coated fork,the forged rims,the special disc carrier 're there for the taking,either u 're willing or not is another matter altogether.

never says its 6,ooo for the looks,alone?????

the less unsprung weight is definitely worth it but.......................................

@ the end of the day,what u pay,is what u get.

u choose your own weapon of choice!!!

VALENTINO ROSSI RIDES THE DUCATI GP12 FOR THE FIRST TIME, AT JEREZ

 

Valentino Rossi took his first laps aboard the Ducati GP12 Friday morning on the Andalusian circuit in Jerez de la Frontera on a day that was sunny and warm (29° air, 41° track; 84° and 106° Fahrenheit, respectively), with the only imperfection being a strong wind. The Italian took to the circuit a few minutes after 11:00 and did a first run of six laps. With that outing having been completed with no problems, the work continued apace for the entire day, by the end of which Valentino had turned 50 laps.

 

Vittoriano Guareschi, who had worn his riding leathers on Thursday, today looked after Valentino's test, participating together with Filippo Preziosi in all of the mini-briefings between the various runs. Meanwhile, Franco Battaini carried out a test of the GP11, working with the electronics and chassis settings.

"I'm happy," Valentino Rossi said after the test. "I like the GP12. In my opinion, it's more enjoyable, more fun to ride. It was the first time we had it on the track, so we had some work to do, but the engine is nicer. It's a lot of fun, and you can do some nice slides. It's the bike we'll ride next year, so it was very important?and also very nice?to be among the first to take it on the track."

I have a set of cyclecats bar riser for 53mm forktubes (Ohlins) if you are interested, well used but no crash damage. This set costed a bomb when new.

Yahoo! DId 650km ride on sunday! I am so impressed with motard performance and touring capabilities! Maintained 150kph on the highway and undisclosed speed in the city and trunk roads. Hahahaha

 

Hypermotard is so fun! Yum! More rides to come!! I wanna go thailand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
